Abstract: A packet generating method in a wireless High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) environment includes generating a packet which includes either AV data or control data in a payload and a field indicative of a packet type in a header according to a HDMI environment; and transmitting the generated packet. Accordingly, the AV data and the control data can be transceived over the single channel in the HDMI.

Abstract: A method for checking availability of audio interface between a display apparatus and an AV apparatus in an AV system, and an AV apparatus using the same are provided. The checking includes transmitting a command to check an audio interface to a second AV apparatus where an audio from a first AV apparatus is output, and receiving a result of checking the audio interface in response to the command from the second AV apparatus. Therefore, a user can recognize whether or not an audio interface has a problem in an AV system.

Abstract: An electronic device, a method for sharing content using temporary keys and a display apparatus using the same are provided. The method includes displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) for registering a temporary key; if a temporary key is input via the GUI, transmitting the inputted temporary key to a server; registering the input temporary key with the server; establishing a network connection with the server and at least one other electronic device, if the at least one other electronic device is authenticated by the server via the registered temporary key; and performing one of transmitting the content to the at least one other electronic device and receiving the content from the at least one other electronic device.

Abstract: An address management method and a video apparatus using the same are provided. The address management method includes determining whether an external device is connected or not; when determining the connection to the external device, generating an invalidation message for invalidating an address; and transmitting the generated invalidation message to the external device. Accordingly, when the port connection is changed, the physical address can be correctly updated by invalidating the former physical address.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes: a first communication unit which conducts communication with an external device connected to the first communication unit; a second communication unit which conducts communication with a contents provider server; a display unit which displays contents being reproduced by the external device and contents related information; and a controller which controls the first communication unit to acquire contents reference information from the external device and controls the second communication unit to retrieve the contents related information using the contents reference information.

Abstract: A method for automatically setting configurations of a display apparatus according to audio/visual (AV) device information or program information, and an apparatus applying the method are provided. The method includes checking device information of an active audio/visual (AV) device, reading configuration setting values corresponding to the device information from a memory, and changing configurations of a display apparatus according to the configuration setting values. As a result, display configurations are changed to optimum conditions automatically, according to the types of external AV devices connected.
