    Abstract: A drinking straw contained in a beverage carton having a flexible portion (2) and a buoy (8). The carbon has a clamp (17) and a straw retainer (18) that holds the straw vertically inside the carton. When the carton is opened the straw (1) comes up immediately to an ideal drinking position. The consumer has the option of extending the straw, which consists of two telescopically engaged tubes.
