The power-application unit may receive from a power-supply unit a first power-supply output having a first voltage level and a second power-supply output having a second voltage level. The power-application unit may be controllable for producing selectively a first power-application output having a third voltage level from the first power-supply output and a second power-application output having a fourth voltage level from the second power-supply output. The network interface may transmit data to and receive data from an external network, and may be powered at least in part by the first and second power-application outputs.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for providing peer-to-peer force feedback over a computer network. A network force feedback system includes a network, a first computer coupled to the network, and a second computer coupled to the network. The first and second computers each include a visual display and a force feedback interface device. Each computer provides a force feedback signal to its force feedback device based on information received from the other, remote computer and in some cases also based on input from the local force feedback device. Positional information of each force feedback device and/or feel sensation information can be transmitted between the computers over the network. A graphical environment can be displayed to enhance the interaction between users. The present invention therefore permits two computer users to interact using force feedback provided over a network on a peer-to-peer basis.

Abstract: An apparatus for a capacitive feed planar inverted-F (PIFA) multi-band antenna is provided. The antenna structure of the present invention typically comprises of a ground element, a main radiating element, having predefined slits and arranged above the ground element, and a capacitive feed element. The capacitive feed element is electrically connected to an antenna feed and is detached from the main radiating and ground elements. By having additional secondary elements, the bandwidth or the number of resonant frequencies of the antenna can be increased without increasing the overall dimensions of the antenna.
