  • Patent number: 5872746
Abstract: A clock timer having a face comprising a mouth, eyes, a nose, and an arm secured to the nose. Rotation of the nose turns a shaft which, via a camming mechanism, forces a plate housed within the clock upward. As the plate moves upward, a rack formed in the plate drives a gear mechanism which rotates the mouth and eyes from a smiling orientation to a frowning orientation. Rotation of the shaft also rotates a timer housed within the clock. Upon expiration of the timer the shaft is rotated in the opposite direction, thereby lowering the plate, driving the gear mechanism, and rotating the mouth and eyes from their frowning orientation to their smiling orientation, and activating a bell housed in the timer.

  • Patent number: 5143419
Abstract: An infant carrier includes a collapsible shell assembly including a seat and a backrest which are pivotally connected for movement between open and closed positions. The carrier further includes a latching assembly for locking the seat and the backrest in the open position, and a pivotable handle assembly which is coaxially oriented about the pivot axis of the seat and the backrest. The handle assembly includes a carrying handle and a pivot and locking mechanism for both locking the seat and the backrest in the closed position, and for locking the handle in a plurality of pivoted positions relative to the shell assembly.

  • Patent number: 4763895
Abstract: A child's playseat used for partial submersion in a bathtub or pool is provided with a mechanism for squirting water as the seat is rocked back and forth. The playseat itself consists of a seat portion which slides back and forth over a fixed base, with a bellows lodged between them for expansion and contraction as the seat slides. Preferred embodiments include an upright post with handlebars, the post pivotally mounted to the playseat to cause the seat to slide when the handlebars are pushed and pulled. Water ejected upon contraction of the bellows passes up through a tube which emerges from the post.

  • Patent number: 4249733
Abstract: A racing toy including a pair of side-by-side main tracks defining down-hill paths for a pair of gravity operated vehicles. The opposite ends of each track are spaced from each other and a pair of pivotal ramps are disposed in such space so as to in effect interconnect such ends. Each ramp has a vehicle receiving portion at one end and an angularly disposed launching portion and is pivotally supported adjacent the initial elevated end of its respective main track. The ramp may be alternatively moved from a lowermost vehicle receiving position to an elevated vehicle launching position so as to in effect form continuous closed loop trackways around which the vehicles may cycle a desired number of turns. The means for elevating the ramps include outwardly projecting handles for the participants of the toy to appropriately manipulate the respective vehicles across the space defined by the track ends.

  • Patent number: 4148486
Abstract: A pinball toy including an inclined playing surface having a plurality of holes through which a ball rolling on the playing surface can fall. Beneath each hole is a ball-ejecting member spring biased upwardly but held down by a latch. As a ball falls through a hole, the ball operates a latch release allowing the spring to pop the ball-ejector upwardly through the hole so as to push the ball upwardly through the hole and back on to the playing surface. Each latch release operates independently only in response to a ball falling through its respective hole, and a manually operated member is provided to simultaneously depress all the ball-ejectors to their latched down positions. A striker carried by each latch hits a bell each time the latch is released. Flippers in the lower region of the playing surface are pivotally movable in a plane parallel to the playing surface in response to moving a flipper actuator toward the playing surface.

  • Patent number: 4072314
Abstract: A toy including a mirror of the type which reflects light from its front surface when there is darkness behind it and which becomes transparent when there is light behind it. A representation, such as of a face, is behind the mirror as is a light source. An electrical sound-producing mechanism is associated with the mirror. The light source is normally deenergized and the sound-producing mechanism inoperative. A switch is provided for simultaneously energizing the light source and for actuating the sound-producing means.
