  • Publication number: 20170230249
Abstract: In one embodiment, the method includes encrypting, at a device, data with a first key, and forming a message that includes a device identifier and the encrypted data. The device identifier identifies the device. A signaling message is formed that includes a class identifier, the message and an action code. The class identifier identifies a group of devices to which one or more devices belong. The action code indicates the type of data, and may be part of the message. The signaling message is sent to a network, for example, a wireless network. The wireless network identifies and routes the message portion of the signaling message based on the class identifier. And, using the class identifier and perhaps a device identifier, the wireless network may signal the device to change an operating parameter.

  • Publication number: 20070121501
Abstract: An access terminal having user applications identified by product keys used to determine a QoS level to be granted to invoked user applications for the establishment of connections by an access network. The access terminal invokes the user applications, identifies the product key of the invoked user applications and determines a quality of service (QoS) level to which the invoked user applications are to be granted. The user applications may be formed into preferred and non-preferred categories with preferred user applications generally having a higher QoS than the non-preferred user applications. Access network connections using a high QoS are established from the preferred user applications to preferred servers of the access network. Connections from the non-preferred user applications are extended, using a lower QoS, by the access network to servers of a public data network.

  • Publication number: 20060285534
Abstract: Methods and systems for improved accuracy in generation of charging data associated with packet data exchange over a wireless communication system network. Features and aspects hereof provide for periodic acknowledgment of packet data exchanged over a wireless communication network exchange between a wireless communication network and a packet data core network and to thereby permit accurate generation of charging information. Periodic acknowledgement messages are returned from the wireless communication network to the packet data core network with negligible impact on the performance of the communication link. Features and aspects hereof are particularly useful to enhance the accuracy of charging information for packet data in a 3GPP compatible wireless communication system.

  • Publication number: 20050037810
Abstract: Systems and techniques for receiving facsimile transmissions through a mobile device and simultaneously or subsequently transferring facsimile data to a remote device for storage, printing or other uses are described. A mobile telephone establishes a voice connection to a facsimile transmission device and receives facsimile data through the voice connection. The facsimile data may be buffered for immediate transfer to a remote device or stored for later retrieval and transfer, depending on preprogrammed options or user selections. When the facsimile data is to be transferred, a packet data connection is established between the mobile telephone and the remote device to which the facsimile data is to be transferred and the facsimile data is transferred to the remote device over the packet data connection.
