  • Publication number: 20240139870
Abstract: A laser crafting apparatus for directing electromagnetic radiation toward a workpiece may include various features. For example, the laser crafting apparatus may include a material support tray that is removably supported within an internal volume of the laser crafting apparatus. Further, the apparatus may include pre-filter disposed in a ventilation pathway between a workspace region of the internal volume and an extractor fan. The laser crafting apparatus may include a laser carriage assembly that houses a laser module and the assembly may include a lens tray detachably coupled to the support structure of the laser carriage assembly. In various embodiments, the laser crafting apparatus includes a lid having a radiation attenuation layer and a fire suppression layer.

  • Patent number: 9333892
Abstract: A granular commodity wagon or grain cart assembly that includes a movable conveyor assembly supported by the grain cart. The conveyor assembly is movable between a stowed position and an in-use position. When in the stowed position, the conveyor assembly facilitates a compact footprint of the grain cart assembly for storage and/or transportation. When in the in-use position, the conveyor assembly can be oriented in generally longitudinal alignment with the longitudinal axis associated with the direction of travel of the grain cart assembly to facilitate loading of the cart with a commodity, such as grain, seeds, or beans collected by a harvester or other secondary harvest or collection and/or transport and/or storage vehicle or container.

  • Patent number: 7927057
Abstract: A non-permanent system for the unloading and loading of ocean-going cargo vessels is described using a cargo transfer system which is supported by dirigibles or airships. The cargo transfer system is comprised of a moving transfer cable, a cargo lifting device and a cargo staging device. The system is used to transfer cargo between at least one sea terminus and at least one land terminus. Cargo is moved along the transfer cable from one terminus to another by means of dirigibles or airships. The sea-terminus of the system may be a floating temporary dock or a large ocean vessel such as an aircraft carrier. The system can be developed so that it is fully transportable and can be assembled and launched from a large ship, as well as recovered for movement to another location. The system may also be used at inland ports. The system can be sized to the port requirements using one transfer system or multiple systems.

  • Publication number: 20100134408
Abstract: An individual's fine-motor skills can be assessed using a force-feedback haptic unit that includes an end-effecter and programmable settings. To assess these skills, a tangible computer readable medium initializes the programmable settings with a set of initial settings. It then presents a 3-D representation of a character or characters to a user. The user in turn is prompted to mimic the character(s) on a work space. While the user is attempting to mimic the character(s) using the end-effecter on the work space, timed stroke data are collected from the force-feedback haptic unit. Using the timed stroke data, an analysis is then generated to determine the user's precision and accuracy of mimicking the character.

  • Patent number: 5964304
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for the uninterrupted transfer of oil and gas well drill cuttings from a collection point, such as a shale shaker trough, to several types of variously configured on rig and off rig receptacles. Two or more hoppers are arranged for alternating receipt and discharge of cuttings, the cuttings being continuously drawn to the hoppers by a suction force from an upstream blower. The receptacles utilized in the various embodiments are varied, such as barges, box containers, and slurry units. The hoppers are, in some embodiments, moved to remote locations, such as off rig barges, prior to beginning the cuttings transfer.
