  • Patent number: 5114062
Abstract: A roll for guidance of web type material, such as paper or cardboard, has a shell that features a multitude of bores. The roll is coordinated with a device for subjecting the roll interior to suction. To hold the web on the roll at standstill, part of these bores can be subjected to suction. In the operation of the roll, air trapped between the web and the roll shell can enter the roll also through the remaining bores and escape in the roll area that is not looped by the web.

  • Patent number: 4969609
Abstract: A winding machine has at least one roll, against which a winding reel is supported. A guide carriage is connected to the respective end of a core of the winding reel. On said guide carriage acts a thrust motor, the force of said motor controlling the line pressure between the reel and the roll and being determined by a dynamometer. A friction brake is also provided to dampen vibrations of the winding reel, which is arranged to act on the thrust motor, while the dynamometer is located between the thrust motor having the brake and the guide carriage so as to monitor the force actually acting on the carriage, to enable the profile of the line pressure to be controlled by a winding hardness controller.

  • Patent number: 4867389
Abstract: A longitudinally movable chuck for winding cores onto which web-like material, such as paper etc., is wound is longitudinally movable by means of a motorized drive. The chuck includes a clamping core which grips into the winding core. The end face of the winding core is supported against a stop of the clamping core. The clamping core is longitudinally movable on a central part of the chuck. Between the central part and the clamping core a compression spring is located for exerting an axially acting clamping force on the winding core. The central part is provided with a switch which is actuable by the longitudinally shifted clamping core. The switch acts on the motorized drive to achieve a relatively precisely adjustable clamping force.

  • Patent number: 4576343
Abstract: In a double supporting roller winding machine for winding material webs, especially paper or board webs, onto core tubes, a core tube insertion device is provided for inserting individual ones of the core tubes in a roller bed. The core tube insertion device is mounted on pivot levers, and has an insertion trough with an angular cross-section for the core tubes. The insertion trough is mounted pivotally on the levers and can be moved into a position in which one of the trough sides extends at least approximately horizontally. Thus, this one side can be used advantageously as a step from which to work and to enable the roller bed to be reached more easily.
