  • Patent number: 5041111
Abstract: An operating insert to be passed through a resectoscope shaft comprises a channel for an axially displaceable cutting loop which extends parallel to an optical system through the operating insert. The cutting loop has branches secured within a tube and merging at their proximal ends into an electrode stem which extends beyond the shaft as far as an electrode carrier. An annular cylindrical sealing element of plastics material or the like is secured on the stem or on the inner side of the channel and bears via sealing projections against the inner surface of the cutting loop so as to prevent the passage of fluid to the proximal end of the channel while allowing axial movement of the stem and the tube within the channel.

  • Patent number: 4819633
Abstract: The coagulation forceps of the type in which a rod for the opening and closing of forceps jaws by reciprocal axial movement thereof extends axially through an externally insulated shaft, and is actuated by a handle comprising a pair of branches which are resiliently biassed apart from one another. To simplify construction while ensuring that the handle is well insulated from the HF supply to the forceps shaft, the two branches of the handle are connected to respective parts of the forceps by separately produced insulating elements. One of these elements is connected to the proximal end of the actuating rod while the other is mounted on the shaft and encloses a connector for the HF supply.

  • Patent number: 4767919
Abstract: The present invention specifies a method for the verification of authenticity in a data carrier (1) by measuring permeability to an electromagnetic radiation in at least one region of the data carrier (1). Permeability is scanned over a regional area of the data carrier by means of a radiation detector (7). The output signal of the detector (7) is coded and co-inscribed as additional information in a store of the data carrier with the information data during the initial inscribing of these data. In the reading and authenticity check scanning operation this information is compared with a corresponding additional information stored during the original data inscription.

  • Patent number: 4650979
Abstract: The present invention specifies a method for the verification of authenticity in a data carrier (1) by measuring permeability to an electromagnetic radiation in at least one region of the data carrier (1). Permeability is scanned over a regional area of the data carrier by means of a radiation detector (7) first in a calibration operation, in which the radiation intensity is adjusted, then in a reading operation at another position of the data carrier. The output signal of the detector (7) is coded and co-inscribed as additional information in a store of the data carrier with the information data during the initial inscribing of these data. In the reading and authenticity check scanning operation this information is compared with a corresponding additional information stored during the original data inscription.

  • Patent number: 4533237
Abstract: For registering the use of copying machines, the copying operation is initially enabled by introduction of user representative data. To provide evidence with respect to the identity of a person who made one or more copies of an original a separate record of the original is generated, and an information identifying the user is included on the record. The original may only be withdrawn from the copying machine after this record has been generated.

  • Patent number: 4505471
Abstract: The device for feeding card-type data supports in a processing equipment includes a guiding path having at least one lateral abutment edge for aligning the data support during travelling from an introduction slot towards a processing position within the equipment. The data support being correctly aligned during its travel along the guiding path, it may be processed during such travel by reading and/or writing data thereon. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the automatic feeding and alignment of the data support is achieved by a frictional guiding wheel secured on a driving shaft which in turn may be pivoted about an axis normal to the plane of the data support card.

  • Patent number: 4472050
Abstract: A copying apparatus is disclosed in which an information derived from an external information source may be combined with an original to be copied. The imaging arrangement of the copying apparatus comprises an arrangement for blocking at least selected portions of the light path between the original and the image to be formed by the imaging optics. The light path blocking arrangement is preferably formed by an LCD-layer associated with the platen on which the original to be copied is laid, the LCD-element being placed under the control of the external information source.

  • Patent number: 4379458
Abstract: A trocar sleeve of the kind having a widened part forming a housing between the distal portion of the sleeve and its proximal portion, which latter extends from a plug for the widened housing part, and a ball valve in the widened housing part which ball valve is closable by resilient means and which is openable by a trocar passing through the sleeve. In this invention, the widened part forming the housing receives an insert of U-shaped cross-section which is securable to the plug to stress an inserted sealing gasket of deformation-resistant plastics material which is to be drilled through to form a valve seating. The space in the U formed by the insert forms a space for the ball of the ball valve to move in, the ball, before the insert is screwed to the plug, being connected to a shaft insertable in the insert and carrying a tangentially loaded helical spring and being placed under stress by connecting the insert to the plug.
