  • Patent number: 4491680
Abstract: A mounting arrangement for a condition sensing probe and method of making the same are provided, the probe being disposed in an opening of a wall of an apparatus and having opposed ends one of which is disposed beyond the interior side of the wall and the other of which extends beyond the exterior side of the wall. A bracket is secured to the wall and has an interconnecting part operatively interconnected to an interconnecting part of the probe whereby the bracket holds the probe in a fixed axial position in the opening of the wall. The interconnecting part of the probe comprises a slot in the probe and the interconnecting part of the bracket comprises an abutment disposed in the slot to provide the sole interconnection between the bracket and the probe.

  • Patent number: 4296603
Abstract: A temperature responsive piston and cylinder unit wherein the piston thereof is extended relative to the cylinder thereof when the unit is heated and the piston is adapted to be retracted into the cylinder when the unit is cooled. An annular electrical heater is carried in substantially a concentric manner on the cylinder of the unit for heating the unit to extend the piston thereof when the heater is activated. The heater comprises a pair of telescoping annular electrical insulating members telescoped on the cylinder of the unit and an electrical heater member disposed between the insulating members to be energized by having an electrical current passed therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4206780
Abstract: A pressure operated water level control device having a movable selector for selecting different water level settings thereof. A heat motor unit is carried by the device and is operatively associated with the selector for moving the selector to a certain low water level setting thereof when the heat motor means is activated.

  • Patent number: 4055724
Abstract: A control device having a housing provided with a selector knob and dial arrangement adjacent the knob, the housing also having electrical terminals adjacent the knob and dial arrangement. A substantially flat protective shield is secured to the control device and covers the terminals, the shield having two separate openings passing therethrough so that one of the openings exposes the dial arrangement and the other of the openings has the selector knob telescopically projecting therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4021094
Abstract: A control device having a housing provided with a terminal that has a threaded screw member with its shank threadedly carried thereby for lead attachment thereto between an enlarged head of the screw member and the terminal. A resilient retainer clip is disposed between the head of the screw member and the terminal, the clip initially being under compression between the head of the screw member and the terminal to tend to hold the screw member in its threaded relation with the terminal. A lead is subsequently disposed between the clip and the terminal, the clip thereafter being disposed in a deformed condition against the lead to hold the lead to the terminal.

  • Patent number: 3995245
Abstract: A thermostat construction having a first contact and a blade-carried second contact supported in a generally cube-like housing and having a bimetal snap disc carried by the housing for controlling movement of the second contact relative to the first contact in response to snapped temperature sensing conditions of the disc together with temperature setting means carried by the housing for selecting the temperature of operation of the disc for moving the second contact out of contact with the first contact whereby the generally cube-like configuration of the housing renders the thermostat construction relatively small and compact.
