  • Patent number: 6440307
Abstract: A water treatment facility and method for treating effluents incorporating an input filter for removing bacterial contamination. The filter utilizes pipe and tube systems for distribution and drainage, which extend from both the inlet and outlets, which face each other at a spaced distance, and contain lengthwise perforations with filtration equipment therebetween. The water treatment apparatus utilizes a septic tank which includes a barrier, a waste water delivery pipe, an evacuation pipe for clean water, equipment for decantation of the heaviest matter at the bottom of the barrier and the surface accumulation of grease and light particles, anaerobic fermentation of the entrapped material, and protective equipment arranged to prevent plugging.

  • Patent number: 5698775
Abstract: A device locating a position of transition between respective layers of first and second fluids, the device comprising: proximal and distal ends, an immersible signal emitter positioned at the distal end, an immersible signal receptor also fixed at the distal end but separated relative to said signal emitter, and a gap separating said center and receptor to receive fluid, the receptor being arranged to receive a signal from said emitter through fluid in said gap and such that the characteristics of the received signal vary depending on the characteristics of the fluid in the gap, wherein the signal emitter and signal receptor are arranged on a common horizontal axis, wherein the signal emitter is a visible light source, and wherein the signal receptor is a mirror aligned at approximately 45.degree. from horizontal to deflect the light signal vertically upward to provide a signal directly visible by a person.

  • Patent number: 5674383
Abstract: A filter (1) for the purification of water comprises an inlet (2) for water to be treated, an outlet (3) for treated water, filtration elements interposed between the inlet and the outlet. The filtration elements comprise two networks (5, 6) of tubes respectively for distribution and drainage associated respectively with the inlet (2) and the outlet (3), disposed substantially opposite and spaced from each other and provided with perforations (7) distributed longitudinally along their transverse walls, filter material (8) interposed between the two networks (5, 6), and distribution elements associated with the network (5) of distribution tubes (5a) and adapted to ensure a diffusion of the water to be treated toward the filter material (8).
