  • Patent number: 5261949
Abstract: A liquid mist for being conveyed by a carrier gas stream is produced from a liquid by atomizing the liquid into the carrier gas stream in the form of a collection of droplets, deflecting the collection of droplets in the carrier gas stream at a deflection region, separating droplets in the collection of droplets which exceed a maximum size from the carrier gas stream, collecting at least a part of the separated droplets on at least one heatable contact surface, and at least partially vaporizing them into the carrier gas stream.

  • Patent number: 4470268
Abstract: A heat exchanger container (2) having a round or square cross-section is divided longitudinally into a boiler compartment (4) and an absorber compartment (5) by a hygroscopic partition wall (1) provided with surfaces (11) on the boiler side, respectively (12) on the absorber side. At both ends of the partition wall (1) are provided sealing elements (10) which insulate the partition wall from the container (2). Cooling vanes (3) increase the active outer surface of the container (2). A condenser (6) for liquifying the refrigerant is located after the container (2) in the flow direction. Then comes a choke member (8) intended to choke control the refrigerant. Finally there is provided an evaporator (7) of which the outlet is connected to the absorber compartment (5) of the container (2). Pipes connect the container (2) on one hand to the condenser (6) and on the other hand to the evaporator (7). This sorption refrigerating apparatus may be set in operation continuously.

  • Patent number: 4295821
Abstract: A burner apparatus for burning liquid fuels is equipped with a swirl atomizer nozzle (4), a flame holder (22) that is connected behind the nozzle mouth, and a combustion air delivery duct (8), in which the nozzle (4) is arranged coaxially. A thermally decoupled duct-like heat conductor (10) functions as a fuel vaporizer in the operation of the apparatus. In its main portion, which starts a small distance downstream from the nozzle, the heat conductor has an inside diameter such that droplets in the spray cone from the nozzle tend to impact evenly over the whole area of its inner surface. The heat conductor (10) is of silica nitride. It comprises at least partially a capillary inner layer.

  • Patent number: 4135371
Abstract: This invention relates to a storage element for a sorption heat storage system comprising a hermetically sealed tubular vessel having a length which is a multiple of its cross section containing a sorbate. The vessel is divided into two regions by an interspace. A first region contains a solid sorption medium and a second region contains an accumulator to collect condense and hold back sorbate driven out of the sorption medium. The invention also relates to a heat storage system consisting of a tank, a plurality of heat storage elements arranged in a parallel array with their interspaces in a plane, a means to divide the tank into two regions outside the elements, lying in the plane of the interspaces and at least one heat transfer media contained in the tank outside the storage elements.
