  • Patent number: 4593480
Abstract: A paper web recording medium provided with toner images as conducted through a fixing housing containing solvent vapor over a paper deflection drum for fixing the toner images on the recording medium. The paper deflection drum is formed by a rigid roller body made of expanded or foamed plastic over which an elastic grid network fabric of toner-repellent material is drawn as an exterior surface sleeve. A low-mass paper deflection roller having low thermal conductivity is thus provided, so that no solvent vapor can condense at the surface of the fixing drum. The low-mass structure of the paper deflection drum also prevents a smear print when starting or stopping conduct of the paper web through the fixing housing.

  • Patent number: 4334955
Abstract: A device for controlling evaporation of a liquid has a container and a heating element for heating and evaporating liquid in the container. The container is disposed on a base plate which is supported by a leaf spring which allows the base plate to move between two microswitches depending upon the amount of liquid in the container. The microswitches are connected to a control circuit for activating the heating element and interrupt the flow of power to the heating element when little or no liquid is present in the container, or when a maximum amount of liquid is present in the container.

  • Patent number: 4231658
Abstract: An electrostatic printing or copying device has a charge image of a form to be printed generated on a photoelectric recording medium with the assistance of a forms printing device. The forms printing device comprises a roller having a transparent cylinder which is arranged between two roller receiving flanges and a lamp tube arranged in the roller. The master copy to be imaged is applied to the transparent cylinder and is illuminated with the assistance of the lamp tube so as to be imaged on the recording medium. A drum acceptance flange is provided with a groove and a peripheral gear for a simple interchange of the roller. The roller is slipped onto the lamp tube for securing the roller in the printer. Subsequently the lamp tube, along with the roller, is rotated with respect to a housing part so that a centering roller engages in the groove of the roller acceptance flange and brings the roller into the correct position.

  • Patent number: 4230409
Abstract: A device is disclosed for adjusting the position of a lens in two directions. The position of a lens with respect to an image plane is adjusted in two directions by fastening the lens to one end of a rod. The rod is axially movably and rotatably seated in a pipe which is fastened to a housing. At the other end of the rod, a lever is pivotably arranged. An end of the lever abuts against a support. The lever can be influenced by means of an adjustment mechanism such that the rod is movable in an axial direction and in a rotary direction.
