  • Patent number: 11012598
Abstract: An apparatus for aligning a lens module with an image sensor to form a camera module includes a chart holder, a positioning unit and a reflective elements holder assembly. In use, the chart holder holds a test chart having a region of interest (ROI), the positioning unit holds the lens module and the image sensor, and the reflective elements holder assembly holds multiple reflective elements between the chart holder and the positioning unit. A first optical path from the ROI is directed to a first position on the image sensor. Second optical paths from the ROI are reflected by the reflective elements to respective second positions on the image sensor, the second positions being spaced from the first position. The images captured by the image sensor (arising from the aforementioned optical paths) are analysed and the positioning unit aligns the lens module with the image sensor based on such analysis.

  • Publication number: 20080112083
Abstract: An implement, comprising a working portion which can be selectively exposed for use or covered when not in use, is pivotally connected to a support. Upon actuation of a release, the implement automatically moves from a first configuration wherein the working end is disposed at least partially within a support, to a second configuration wherein the working end is exposed. The support and the working portion are pivotally connected via at least one linking arm. Upon the selective actuation of a release, the writing portion rotates from a first configuration to a second configuration. The movement is preferably spring-biased and damped. The support may also include a pocket clip. The pocket clip may be of appropriate size to allow printing of a logo or any other desired indicia. Items include writing implements, and various other usable implements, such as a flashlight, a toothbrush or a laser pen.

  • Publication number: 20060228156
Abstract: Items such as writing implements comprise a housing which moves from a first configuration wherein a writing portion is at least partially disposed within a housing to a second configuration wherein more of the writing portion is disposed outside of the housing. In one version, upon the selective actuation of a release, at least two housing portions initially move away from each other while the writing portion moves from the first configuration toward the second configuration, the housing portions then move back toward each other, all in a damped motion. In the second configuration, at least a portion of the writing portion is further away from the hinge-type connection than in the first configuration.

  • Publication number: 20060227668
Abstract: Devices comprising a multi-piece housing which move from a first configuration wherein an item is at least partially disposed within a housing to a second configuration wherein more of the item is disposed outside of the housing. Upon the selective actuation of a release, at least two housing portions initially move away from each other while the item moves from the first configuration toward the second configuration, the housing portions then move back toward each other, all in a damped motion. In the second configuration, at least a portion of the item is further away from the hinge-type connection than in the first configuration.

  • Publication number: 20060168864
Abstract: A trifold display device comprising panel opening mechanism(s) which open the device, in a damped motion, from a closed position wherein display surfaces are concealed from view to an open configuration wherein three display surfaces are exposed. The panel operating mechanisms exert forces on two panels, thereby urging the panels toward an open position. Upon actuation of a release latch, the opening mechanisms move a support panel around to the back of the mirror, thereby raising the device into a tilted position (if the device is resting on a surface). Preferably simultaneously, the two movable display panels are also moved to an open configuration wherein they are exposed.

  • Publication number: 20060157089
Abstract: An eyeglass cleaner can include a clip configured to hold a pair of eyeglasses, an agitator arm coupled to the clip, and a solution tank. The agitator arm can be configured to move the clip in a forward and backward motion during at least one of a cleaning operation or a drying operation. The clip can be configured to move between a lowered position in which the clip can be located within the solution tank and a raised position in which the clip can be located above the solution tank.
