  • Patent number: 11845538
Abstract: A system and a method for evaluating performance of a porous skin of an aircraft including the porous skin, and a boundary layer control system. The performance evaluation system includes a first sensor providing data related to the performance of the porous skin. The performance evaluation system is further configured to clean the porous skin based on the performance of the porous skin determined using the data received from the first sensor in order to ensure that the porous skin operates at its maximum capability.

  • Patent number: 11511306
Abstract: A device for lacquer transfer is disclosed having a frame, a nozzle with a dispensing end for dispensing lacquer, and a transfer roller with a circumferential lateral wall, a circumferential outer contact surface of the lateral wall comprises several depressions, wherein the nozzle and the transfer roller are arranged such that lacquer is dispensable from the dispensing end onto the outer contact surface and into the depressions, wherein the transfer roller is configured to roll with the outer contact surface on a work surface of a workpiece for transferring the lacquer from the outer contact surface and from the depressions to the work surface of the workpiece. A first hardening unit is formed as a UV-light unit configured for partially hardening the lacquer in a contactless way by emitting UV-light, the first hardening unit is arranged within an interior space defined by the transfer roller.

  • Patent number: 9555901
Abstract: A method of protecting a part of a surface of an aircraft against contamination with insect residues and/or against icing is described. The method includes the following steps: a) coating the part of the surface to be protected with a coating that can, within a period of ?3 hours from take-off of the aircraft and in normal flying conditions, reduce the adhesion to the part of the surface to be protected until detachment occurs on the basis of (i) temperature change and/or (ii) UV radiation and/or (iii) addition of a decomposing component and/or (iv) difference in air humidity, and b) exposing the part of the surface to be protected to (i) a temperature change and/or (ii) UV irradiation (iii) and/or addition of a decomposing component and/or (iv) a difference in air humidity, so that the coating together with any contaminants and/or icing thereon detaches.

  • Patent number: 7416894
Abstract: The invention relates to water standards that are producible by grounding and mixing at least one component abounding in water and one water-free or low water component each. The inventive water standards are characterized by a good storage stability. They are suitable for the calibration or the inspection of devices to determine the water content after thermal release, especially for determining the water content according to Karl Fischer in combination with a Karl Fischer oven (Karl-Fischer oven technique).
