  • Publication number: 20230235231
Abstract: This invention deals with a new alkylphenol ethoxylated free (APE-free) reactive nonionic surfactant with terminal unsaturation in the hydrophobic part comprising at least one of monoesters and diesters and a process to obtain the APE-free reactive nonionic surfactant comprising the alkoxylation step of fatty acid with terminal unsaturation or direct esterification of fatty acid with terminal unsaturation and glycol derivative. Furthermore, emulsion polymerized latexes are disclosed, which are polymerized with an anionic surfactant and a reactive nonionic surfactant of this invention. Latexes prepared according to this invention generated water-based coating compositions with high water resistance.

  • Patent number: 11274214
Abstract: The present invention relates to water-based coatings compositions containing low volatiles and high resistance to the dirt grip. Such compositions contain conventional low VOC coalescing latexes which favor the evolution of hardness of films of inks and films of polymers by providing coatings with high resistance to the catch of dirt that can be used in various applications. Such coalescents are predominantly diesters with a boiling point greater than 260° C., preferably boiling point greater than 280° C., and molecular weight between 230 and 342 atomic mass units prepared from diacid and alcohol or monoacid reactions and diols.

  • Patent number: 9809684
Abstract: The present invention relates to aqueous resin emulsions containing at least a non-ionic surfactant of general formula R1-(A1O)n-(A2O)x-(A3O)y—R2, obtained by the phase inversion emulsification process. In particular, the invention relates to aqueous resin emulsions commonly used in solvent-based paints, such as, for example, alkyd resins. Said emulsions are stabilized by non-ionic and anionic surfactant compositions which promote the inversion of the water-oil to oil-water phases in the presence of low water content, enabling water-oil type emulsions to be obtained with high productivity and high solids content, even in low shear conditions.
