    Abstract: A frame has an elongate form with elongate rest shelves on lateral sides thereof to support ceiling tiles. Ends of the frame are connected to T-bars within a suspended ceiling, as one example of mounting system for the loudspeaker of this invention. A yoke is fixed within a channel of the frame. The yoke has a pair of arms supporting magnets on ends thereof. A gap is provided between the magnets. A voice strip is located within this gap between the magnets and has a piston thereon which includes a diaphragm. A voice coil associated with the voice strip interacts with a magnetic field created by the magnets to cause the piston to vibrate, and in turn to cause the diagram to emit sound waves. The diaphragm is elongate with a width less than 10% of its length. A surround supports a perimeter of the diaphragm relative to the frame.

    Abstract: In a suspended ceiling a housing is provided including a light located within an interior chamber having a lower opening. The housing includes lateral sides with slots therein which can receive fasteners coupled to ends of other T-bars. Ends of the housing can include fasteners, such as tabs or clips, which attach ends of the housing to adjacent supports, such as other T-bars within the suspended ceiling. In one embodiment, the housing has a constant cross-sectional form. The cross-sectional form can include lateral sides defined by lateral cross-tees with a vertical spine and lateral rest shelf upon which an edge of the ceiling tile can be supported. A central cross-tee can optionally be provided extending down from upper portions of the housing and between diagonal spans on upper lateral portions of the housing. One or more diffusers span the lower opening of the housing.

    Abstract: In a dropped ceiling assembly system elements are provided which include an elongate planar shelf held below an elongate spine. The shelf has lateral edges which can support edges of a ceiling tile resting thereon. This spine is configured to be held in position either adjacent to spines of other elements within a dropped ceiling or from above, such as by suspension wires passing through suspension holes in the spine. A compartment is provided on an underside of the shelf which is sized and shaped to receive and hold at least a portion of a loudspeaker therein. The loudspeaker mounting system is thus integrated into the shelf which also acts to hold ceiling tiles within a dropped ceiling.

    Abstract: A T-bar type support extends in elongate form and is configured, such as with a spine and rest shelf, for supporting edges of ceiling tiles thereon within a suspended ceiling system. A lighting module is suspended below other portions of the T-bar. The T-bar also includes a reflector plate above the body which extends at least partially laterally and below where the ceiling tiles are supported. A lighting source within the lighting module shines light upwardly which then reflects off of the reflector plate and down into an interior space beneath the suspended ceiling. Legs preferably suspend the lighting module below the reflector plate, with the legs preferably at ends of the T-bar, and with open space between the legs, so that nothing obstructs light shining from the lighting source up against the reflector plate and then down into the interior space beneath the ceiling.

The housing includes an opening with a centerline which extends at least partially laterally. A light source such as an LED within a recess of the housing shines out of the opening along the centerline in an at least partially lateral direction. A diffuser is preferably provided spanning this opening. The housing preferably includes a front wall opposite a rear wall, with the rear wall larger than the front wall and with the opening in the housing extending between lower portions of the rear wall and lower portions of the front wall. Heat transfer fins on an upper surface of the rest shelf and upper end of the spine are preferably provided to assist in heat dissipation.
