  • Publication number: 20230028381
Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating an enterprise user to obtain an answer to a user question within an enterprise based on an enterprise knowledge graph are provided. In particular, an enterprise server may receive the user question from the enterprise user, determine a suggested topic associated with the user question based on the enterprise knowledge graph by transforming the user question into a semantic representation to identify a plurality of similar entities within the enterprise knowledge graph, and determine whether a relevant question-and-answer (Q&A) pair linked to the suggested topic exists based on the enterprise knowledge graph. In response to a determination that the relevant Q&A pair does not exist, the enterprise server may determine a predicted answer to the user question and update the enterprise knowledge graph.

  • Patent number: 11468228
Abstract: Content frames can be provided for productivity applications through a content frame platform. The platform can detect a sequence of similar documents (“a document run”) and provide functionality to easily create the next document in the sequence through a content frame. The platform can receive a trigger for a content frame for a new document; and, in response, determine whether the new document belongs to a document run. In response to determining the new document belongs to a document run, the platform can determine at least two documents in the document run to be used to create the content frame and identify common content between the at least two documents in the document run. The content frame, which can include at least an outline for the new document and sections of updatable content for the new document, can be generated using the common content and provided for display and/or editing.

  • Patent number: 10740541
Abstract: Representative embodiments disclose mechanisms to validate statements made as part of a document creation or editing process. As the user edits or creates a document using a document creation/editing application, statements made in the document can be submitted to a validation service in a proactive or reactive manner. The statement validation service receives the statement, resolves any coreferences using a coreference resolution process. Once coreferences in the statement have been resolved and replaced, entities are resolved using an entity resolution process. Predicates are then resolved using a predicate resolution process. Entity-predicate pairs are then used to traverse a knowledge graph to extract information relevant to the statement. Suggested corrections are created from the extracted information and presented to the user via the document creation/editing application.

  • Patent number: 10692093
Abstract: Technologies pertaining to the creation of personalized data for an individual, including personalized data based on a social networking participant's social networking data, entity extraction, and automatic collage generation are described herein. In one implementation, the personalized data is used to provide a personalized, social-based replacement for a default UI element. In one implementation, a disambiguated named entity is extracted from user generated content in a social networking application, a socially interesting photomontage is automatically generated based on photographs from a social networking application, and the photomontage is rendered with hotspots containing socially relevant annotations.

  • Patent number: 9772992
Abstract: A novel system for automatically indicating the specific identity of ambiguous named entities is provided. An automatic disambiguation data collection is created using a reference resource. Explicit named entities are catalogued from the reference resource, together with various abbreviated, alternative, and casual ways of referring to the named entities. Entity indicators, such as labels and context indicators associated with the named entities in the reference resource, are also catalogued. The automatic disambiguation collection can then be used as a basis for evaluating ambiguous references to named entities in text content provided in different applications. The content surrounding the ambiguous reference may be compared with the entity indicators to find a good match, indicating that the named entity associated with the matching entity indicators is the intended identity of the ambiguous reference, which can be automatically provided to a user.

  • Patent number: 9323833
Abstract: Online information is retrieved for a user. An original query submitted by the user is received which includes a plurality of query terms the user associates with particular online information the user is interested in. The original query is then analyzed using data from an online knowledge repository and a historical query log of a search engine to determine central concepts of the original query. A revised query results from this analysis which includes one or more of the central concepts. The revised query is then submitted to the search engine. Search results for the revised query are then provided to the user.

  • Publication number: 20150269612
Abstract: A “Document Enhancer” provides an entity platform that ingests entity collections, information sources, topical databases, etc., and generates corresponding knowledge bases (KB's) and entity extraction services. This platform enables various user authorization scenarios for obtaining access to one or more KB's. Further, this platform processes arbitrary user content, e.g., documents, images, text fragments, speech, etc., to determine which KB's are relevant to that content. If access to relevant KB's is authorized, the Document Enhancer employs those KB's to analyze and augment the arbitrary content. Content augmentation examples include adding hyperlinks, highlighting relevant information, inserting relevant information into popups, windows, or tabs, enabling searches and services based on selected KB's, etc. An entity store maintains a library of available KB's that may be accessed by the user.

  • Patent number: 9055607
Abstract: Multi-modal, multi-lingual devices can be employed to consolidate numerous items including, but not limited to, keys, remote controls, image capture devices, audio recorders, cellular telephone functionalities, location/direction detectors, health monitors, calendars, gaming devices, smart home inputs, pens, optical pointing devices or the like. For example, a corner of a cellular telephone can be used as an electronic pen. Moreover, the device can be used to snap multiple pictures stitching them together to create a panoramic image. A device can automate ignition of an automobile, initiate appliances, etc. based upon relative distance. The device can provide for near to eye capabilities for enhanced image viewing. Multiple cameras/sensors can be provided on a single device to provide for stereoscopic capabilities. The device can also provide assistance to blind, privacy, etc. by consolidating services.

  • Patent number: 9015148
Abstract: Described is the presenting of suggested queries for web pages that are not search engine results pages, based upon the URL and/or content of a currently displayed page. The suggested query set may be dynamically extracted (locally or remotely) based upon the content of the web page, and/or obtained from a data store of per-URL suggested query sets, e.g., generated from historical logs. Also described are various techniques for generating suggested queries, and user interface mechanisms that display and allow interaction with suggested queries.

  • Patent number: 8275759
Abstract: Described is a search technology in which a search engine constructs a results page for a query that integrates suggested queries with the individual query results (e.g., displayed URLs). When rendered, the proximity of the suggested queries to their corresponding individual query result provides context as to the specific URL to which the suggested query is related. Suggested queries may appear alongside their associated search result, e.g., a displayed URL, and/or in an expandable panel proximate that individual search result. Suggested queries may appear within text accompanying a URL, and/or in a drop down menu following interaction with such text or the like. Related queries may be found by using a search result URL to find a query, by analyzing a search result's text snippet, by accessing historical data, and/or by accessing current user session data.

  • Publication number: 20110295847
Abstract: Concepts are presented related to a search engine query. Users can subsequently navigate search results and/or reformulate a query at a conceptual level. In one instance, users can specify weight with respect to one or more concepts to capture interest or lack of interest with respect to search intent. Based on one or more weights, a search query can be modified and results presented to a user along with associated concepts to enable continued interaction. Additionally or alternatively, organization and/or presentation of search results as well as advertisements can be influenced by user-specified weights or other interactions with concepts.
