  • Publication number: 20120105883
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for cloning of document processing device configurations. The system and method include a first document processing device which has configurable components and is operable for placement in networked data communication with other document processing devices, each including an equivalent set of configurable components with the first document processing device. Registration data corresponding to an identity and address of each of the plurality of document processing devices is stored on a first document processing device. Modified configuration data corresponding to the first document processing device is received and a configuration of the configurable components of the first document processing device is updated in accordance with received modified configuration data. Modification data is communicated to each of the plurality of document processing devices corresponding to the modified configuration data in accordance with the registration data.

  • Publication number: 20090106647
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for creating seasonally adjusted tangible outputs via an associated kiosk. Template data associated with seasonal tangible output templates is first stored in a data storage associated with the kiosk. Each of the templates includes code data corresponding to an associated season. Date data is then received and tested against the code data. As a result of the testing of the received date data against the code data, a subset of the plurality of tangible output templates is isolated. Display data is then generated on an associated display in accordance with the isolated subset of tangible output templates.

  • Publication number: 20090070276
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a print proofing system and method for fee-based document output devices. Electronic document data is first received of a selected electronic document for which tangible output is desired. A user is prompted for input of proof output data representing an instruction to generate a single, tangible copy of the electronic document. Proof output instruction data is received representing a desired sample tangible output corresponding to the electronic document. Output is then commenced of the copy corresponding to the received electronic document. Proof acceptability data is received representing the acceptability of the single, tangible copy of the electronic document data. The receipt of proof output instruction data is then disabled upon receipt of proof acceptability data indicating disapproval of the single, tangible copy. Upon receipt of approval of the single copy, fee data is generated associated with the tangible output of the received electronic document.

  • Publication number: 20090067008
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for transportable software operation of document processing devices. A portable data storage device is first received, whereupon a bi-directional data communication link is established with the portable data storage device. Operational data associated with the operation of a document processing device is then communicated from the portable data storage device. Operation of the document processing device is then commenced in concert with the operational data received from the portable data storage device. The operation of the document processing device is terminated upon removal of the portable data storage device.

  • Patent number: 7450946
Abstract: A system and method for automated selection of a wireless document processing device. Data representing a plurality of available document processing devices is first generated on a wireless data processing device. The wireless data connection is then detected between a portable data device and an associated access point, wherein the access point is associated with at least one of the available document processing devices. Next, the at least one available document processing device is set as the default selection for performing document processing operations based on the detected wireless connection between the portable data device and the wireless access point associated with the at least one document processing device.

  • Patent number: 7430736
Abstract: An architecture for providing device software from a network peripheral device to a client machine. An end-user of a client machine connected to the network accesses the network peripheral device having the device software stored therein. In response thereto, the network peripheral device notifies the end-user that device software is available for download. The end-user then manually selects and downloads one or more components of the device software from the network peripheral device for subsequent installation on the client machine.

  • Publication number: 20070291299
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for generating location based content via a document processing device. Location data representing the location of the document processing device is first stored in an associated storage, along with data representing services associated with the document processing device. A user is first prompted, via an associated user-interface, to select a desired service, which is associated with a specific network service provider. The network address of each service provider is stored in the data storage in correlation with the service to which the provider is associated. The user then selects a desired service, whereupon the device generates a query including the device location data and submits the query to the service provider corresponding to the selected service. The device then receives a response from the service provider and outputs the response to the user.
