    Abstract: A system and method for the treatment of a skin comprising. The system comprises an applicator having a cavity and one or more light sources configured to irradiate the cavity with optical energy simultaneously from at least two directions. The applicator is applied to the skin and a region of skin is made to protrude into the cavity. The protruding region of skin is then irradiated with optical energy from the one or more light sources simultaneously from at least two directions.
