  • Publication number: 20070014628
Abstract: A clamp comprises: a first jaw (2) and a second jaw (3) having opposing contact surfaces (8, 9) which are relatively substantially linearly displaceable between a position of minimum separation and a position of maximum separation, wherein in use the opposing contact surfaces (8, 9) contact the lower surface and upper surface respectively of a structural element, wherein the first jaw (2) incorporates a first aperture remote from the contact surface and adapted to receive a suspension element or fastener; one or more means for guiding the first jaw (2) and the second jaw (3) during relative substantially linear displacement such as to substantially prevent relative non-linear displacement of the opposing contact surfaces (8, 9); and means for delimiting the substantially linear displacement of the opposing contact surfaces (8, 9) of the first jaw (2) and second jaw (3) to the position of maximum separation.

  • Patent number: 6234734
Abstract: A blind fastening method and device for use in clamping a component to a support plate, in which the fastener device is taken through aligned openings in the component and in the support plate, and comprises: a slotted sleeve; an apertured sleeve head at one end of the sleeve; a threaded fastener portion which can be taken through the apertured sleeve head and the sleeve; a tightening fastener head for tightening the fastener portion; and a diverging sleeve-expanding head mounted on the fastener portion and engageable with the opposite end of the sleeve to expand the latter radially outwardly to anchor the sleeve; in which the sleeve head has an off-set formation engageable to a tool which prevents rotation of the sleeve head while the fastener head is being tightened.
