    Abstract: In a method and mounting system for placing tiles, use is made of a form-retaining grid element (10) with a number of mutually intersecting walls (11,12) which define a number of tile compartments (13) therebetween. The grid element is fixed to a surface for tiling, whereafter tiles (20) are placed in the tile compartments (13). The tiles herein fit between the walls, which herein provide a moisture-tight seal and joint filling.
