  • Patent number: 10688314
Abstract: There is provided a light treatment device (1). The device (1) comprises a carrier (11) having an opening (5) for positioning over and viewing a treatment area and a light emitter (6) for providing treatment light to the treatment area. There is also provided an attachment (3) for attaching the carrier to a patient. The device is useful as the opening can be positioned over an area where light therapy is desired, whilst viewing the area, and then held in position with the attachment. Light therapy can then be administered to the area and treatment of areas where light therapy is not desired can be avoided.

  • Publication number: 20100056396
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus 1 for transferring cells 2 suspended in a fluid 3 from the fluid 3 to a substrate 17. The apparatus 1 comprises a transfer device 8 having an exterior surface 9, an interior cavity 10, and a plurality of passages 11 each having a first end 12 at the exterior surface 9 and a second end 13 in fluid 5 communication with the cavity 10 and each having a diameter corresponding to a predefined size of the cells 2 to be transferred. The apparatus further comprises a pressure regulating device 14 capable of regulating a pressure in the cavity 10 so as to establish a pressure difference between the first and second ends 12, 13 of each passage 11, a container 4 for containing the fluid 3, and a flow device 7 capable of causing the fluid 3 to flow across the 10 exterior surface 9 when in contact with the fluid 3.

  • Publication number: 20090244692
Abstract: Beam manipulation member for use in an optical tweezers system, the beam manipulation member comprising at least one optical element, being controllably deformable in order to act on a laser beam in response to signals coming from the optical tweezers system. The beam manipulation member may be used to change the focal distance of the optical tweezers system and also to deflect the laser beam.

  • Patent number: 7145529
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for color correction in an organic electroluminescent device (1), having at least one pixel (6), comprising an electro-luminescent material layer (5), which is sandwiched between a first and a second electrode (2, 3), and constituting at least a first and a second light-emitting element (6R,6G), wherein said method comprises the steps of: inputting a data signal (S) comprising information to be displayed by said light-emitting elements (6R,6G), generating, in a correction means (10), a correction factor for each light-emitting element (6R, 6G), said correction factor being based on a relationship between a color point wavelength shift (??) and a measured shift in one of a voltage across at least one of said light-emitting elements (6R,6G) at a predetermined current (Is) and a current through at least one of said light-emitting elements (6R,6G), at a predetermined voltage (Vs), applying said correction factor on said data signal (S), and supplying the corrected data signal (S
