    Abstract: There is provided a method and apparatus for the excorporeal treatment of blood of hyperlipemic anc hypercholesteremic patients whereby a portion of blood is drawn from such patients and treated with a divalent metal complex of a sulphated polysaccacharide coupled to a non-sulphated polysaccharide gel having its remaining sites blocked whereby a substantial amount of the lipoproteins present in the blood are bound to the gel and then filtering the blood before returning same to the patient.
