  • Publication number: 20240051019
Abstract: A green body part comprises a first green portion, a second green portion, an interfacial joint between the first green portion and the second green portion, and a joint material disposed within the interfacial joint. The joint material comprises a powder having a particle size distribution than or equal to 1 ?m and less than or equal to 50 ?m. A method of manufacturing a joined part includes applying a joint material on a face of the first green portion and contacting the second green portion to the joint material on the face of the first green portion to form a joined green body part.

  • Publication number: 20220145102
Abstract: A dip-coat binder solution comprises a metal dip-coat powder and a dip-coat binder. The dip-coat binder solution has a viscosity greater than or equal to 1 cP and less than or equal to 40 cP. The metal dip-coat powder may comprise a stainless steel alloy, a nickel alloy, a copper alloy, a copper-nickel alloy, a cobalt-chrome alloy, a titanium alloy, an aluminum alloy, a tungsten alloy, or a combination thereof. A method of forming a part includes providing a green body part comprising a plurality of layers of print powder, dipping the green body part in a dip-coat binder solution to form a dip-coated green body part, and heating the dip-coated green body part. After dipping, the dip-coated green body part has a surface roughness Ra less than or equal to 10 ?m.

  • Publication number: 20200116582
Abstract: An additively manufactured fluid distribution manifold and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The fluid distribution manifold includes a manifold body defining a plurality of internal passages that may extend through an insulation layer that extends at least partially around the manifold body. The insulation layer includes an external wall and an insulated wall separated by a gap, and the external wall may define a flat surface for receiving a heating element. The fluid distribution manifold may be part of a pitot static test module for testing pitot static tubes in low temperature environments.

  • Publication number: 20170114667
Abstract: A gas turbine engine thermal control double-wall apparatus for active clearance control and a method of using the apparatus are provided herein. The apparatus has a thermal air distribution manifold encircling an axially extending portion of an engine outer casing. The manifold has a plurality of header assemblies with an annular supply tube and a plurality of annular spray rails in fluid supply communication with at least one of the plurality of supply plenums. The annular spray rails define spray holes that are oriented to impinge thermal control air onto the outer casing having at least one thermal control ring attached thereto before being exhausted from circumferentially extending exhaust passages. All of the thermal control apparatus surfaces in direct contact with the thermal control air are constructed of an integrated double wall heat shield defining a hermetically sealed cavity between the walls therein.
