Abstract: Community interaction during video viewing is provided. A video hosting website includes videos available for viewing. Users establish lists of friends, who are other users of the video hosting site. When a user logs on, her presence is made known by an interaction engine to her friends that are also logged in to the site. The user's activities are tracked and her friends are notified of those activities. Tracked activities may include viewing a video, rating a video, commenting on a video, uploading a video to the site, and adding a new friend. Friends are notified of these activities in one embodiment through one or more user interface elements. A user can select a user interface element to discover which of her friends are also watching the same video at that time. A user watching a video can summon her online friends to the watch page to watch collaboratively.

Abstract: A system for providing video processing feedback to content providers uploading a video file. As the content provider uploads a video file to the video processing server, the server processes the uploading file and extracts representative video frames from the video file. The video processing server embeds the representative frames into a processing feedback page hosted on a web server in the video processing server. Each representative frame in the feedback page represents a part of the uploading video. The feedback page is accessible through the content provider's browser and the feedback page includes a sequence of representative frames in temporal order. In one embodiment, the representative frames in the feedback page are colored or shaded to indicate whether the video part represented by a particular frame has been processed.

Abstract: A smart subscribe button on watch is presented. In response to a user request for a watch page, a channel associated with the watch page requested by a user is identified. Subscription information of the user is obtained. A determination is made of whether the user is subscribed to the channel associated with the watch page based on the subscription information of the user. If the user is subscribed to the channel, the watch page is modified to reflect the user subscription to the channel associated with the watch page, wherein the modified watch page is to be presented to the user in response to the user request.
