The method includes the steps of: introducing an oligomerization transition metal catalyst, olefin monomers, and a solvent into a reactor and performing an olefin oligomerization reaction to produce an oligomer; introducing a catalyst deactivator to a reaction product of the oligomerization reaction to deactivate the catalyst, with the catalyst deactivator including at least one functional group containing at least one selected from the group including oxygen, phosphor, nitrogen, and sulfur and having a number average molecular weight of 400 or more; separating the oligomer through distillation in a distiller; and separating the catalyst deactivator through the bottom end of the distiller.

    Abstract: Provided are a complex synthesized from a novel tridentate ligand including an ammonium salt and a process of producing polycarbonate by copolymerization of carbon dioxide and epoxide using the same as a catalyst. A novel tridentate complex may be cheaply prepared as compared to the existing tetradentate complex containing four ammonium salts but have an advantage in that the novel tridentate complex may have an activity at a level similar to that of the existing tetradentate complex by adopting a cis-? conformation. Further, since in the tridentate complex, the number of ammonium salt serving as an initiator is small but the number of vacant sites is large as compared to the tetradentate complex containing four ammonium salts, the tridentate complex may have excellent activity.
