  • Publication number: 20090274505
Abstract: Mechanical braille writer. The braille writer includes a chassis supporting a plurality of finger operated keys with each key mechanically interconnected with an embossing mechanism so that depression of a key causes a corresponding one of a plurality of pins in the embossing mechanism to extend outwardly from the embossing mechanism to create a raised dot on paper adjacent to the embossing mechanism. The embossing mechanism comprises a block adapted for slidingly guiding the plurality of pins for paper contact. It is preferred that each one of the plurality of pins is straight and identical to the other pins.

  • Publication number: 20040240967
Abstract: A binding element that may he readily molded, and utilized to bind a range of sizes and thicknesses of stacks of sheets. The elements are molded in a flat sheets with elongated fingers extending from an elongated spine either as individual binding elements, or as an extended length that is then cut to size during an automated assembly process. The elongated fingers are inserted into the prepunched openings in the stack of sheets. The free ends of the fingers are then coupled to the spine, shortening the closed finger loop to an appropriate length for the thickness of the stack of sheets. The excess finger is cut from the finding element and discarded. The actual process steps may be performed in various orders, either sequentially or simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 6170676
Abstract: A foldable dish drainer includes a base with first and second sections hingedly joined at adjacent parallel edges to form a dish draining surface and movable into a parallel overlying position in a folded mode. The foldable dish drainer further includes a first dish support member having one edge hingedly attached to a surface of the first base section, a second dish support member having one edge hingedly attached to a surface of the second base section, and opposed edges of the first and the second dish support members movably attached together such that when the first and second base sections are in the open mode the first and second dish support members are in an upstanding position for receiving and holding dishes in a draining position and when the first and second base sections are in the folded mode the first and second dish support members are in a folded position.
