  • Publication number: 20040132854
Abstract: The invention relates to ethylene polymers that are modified by ionizing radiation, prior to article formation, at a temperature less than the crystalline melt temperature and preferably under ambient atmosphere, as well as articles made from said polymers. The irradiated ethylene polymers exhibit enhanced melt strength, tensile strength, impact resistance, tear strength, adhesion to polar substances and thermal stability, decreased elongation, and lower melt flow index, but are easily processed and converted into and onto articles by conventional technologies including injection molding, extrusion, film and bottle blowing and powder coating.

Abstract: A safety syringe includes: a barrel, a plunger, a connecting member and a cover cap. Said barrel has a barrel tip with an injection passage at said barrel top. A plunger holds in said barrel. A connecting member covers over said barrel, embedded on said barrel tip. Said front part of connecting member forms at least a tab coupling with a extending a coupling shield in facing front to said tab coupling. Said connecting member has at least a coupling member and a seat bearing force from an elasticity element. At said connecting member top part has a locking wherein install a connected tip linked to said injection passage. A cover is capping said connecting member comprising a L-form socket which providing a socket path and a groove of said coupling member and tab coupling for coupling and fixing. A tuber front locates at the front part of said cover cap on which interior side bears force from elasticity element. • Patent number: 6544688
Abstract: Provided are cathode current collectors for use in electrochemical cells, wherein the current collector comprises a conductive primer layer applied upon a conductive support, and the primer layer comprises from about 20 to 60% by weight of a crosslinked polymeric material formed from a reaction of a polymeric material having hydroxyl groups and a crosslinking agent, about 2 to 15% by weight of a cationic polymer comprising quaternary ammonium salt groups, and about 35 to 75% by weight of a conductive filler. The present invention also pertains to methods of forming such cathode current collectors for use in electrochemical cells comprising: (i) an anode comprising lithium, and (ii) a cathode comprising an electroactive sulfur-containing material, and electrochemical cells comprising such cathode current collectors.

  • Patent number: 6373601
Abstract: An image scanner employs sliding elements to keep a regular depth of field between a scanning module and a scanned object. The image scanner comprises a housing, a scanning plate for holding scanned object, a plurality of sliding elements, a movable carriage, a scanning module and a driving device. The sliding elements pinch at the both sides of scanning plate and slide freely lengthwise along the scanning plate and the carriage is fixed at the sliding elements. Because the scanning plate is the same reference base for both carriage and scanned object, it is easy to keep the regular distance between carriage and scanned object.

  • Patent number: 6143884
Abstract: A manufacturing process of cellulose solution with low viscosity includes the step of dissolving a cellulose in a mixture solvent which is produced by mixing an additional solvent mixture, N-methylol caprolactom, with a main solvent, N-methyl morpholine oxide. The present invention not only can increase the swelling of the pulp during the dissolving process, but also can lower the viscosity of the cellulose solution that enables the manufacturing process to process at lower temperature and the cellulose solution produced to spin in higher spinning speed. Therefore, the physical property and the quality of the final fiber product are improved by eliminating the problem of cellulose polymerization decay.

The process comprises the steps of kneading and dissolving raw cellulose material into a solvent mixture and an anti-polymerization degrading agent to form a cellulose solution which is spun to a fiber or a film of regenerated cellulose. The characteristics of the present process are that:a. the solvent mixture consists of 40-70 wt % of N-methyl morpholine oxide (NMMO), 20-50 wt % of N-methylol caprolactam (NMC) and 5-35 wt % of tetra methyl ammonium chloride (TMAC);b. the raw cellulose material is dissolved in the solvent mixture by assistance of a thin film evaporator at 80.degree. C. and 50-150 torr; andc. the anti-polymerization degrading agent is 1000 ppm to 1% of stearyl-3(3',5'-di-ter-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionate.

  • Patent number: 5096732
Abstract: A fat-reduced, edible, water-in-oil spread is produced by heating a fat which is normally solid at room temperature so as to melt a substantial proportion of less thermally stable crystals in the fat; homogeneously admixing sufficient water to the heated fat to reduce the proportion of fat in the resulting admixture; cooling the admixture to crystallize a substantial proportion of the uncrystallized fat and produce a pumpable plastic mass; and subjecting the pumpable plastic mass to cutting and mixing in a turbine-like comminuting device while limiting the temperature rise of the plastic mass.
