Abstract: The disclosure provides a respirator, which includes a ventilation device, configured for providing ventilation airflow to a patient. The respirator further includes a first monitor, configured for monitoring a pressure or a flow velocity with which the ventilation device ventilates the patient, and a second monitor, configured for measuring a pressure change that reflects a self-respiratory effort of the patient. The respirator also includes a processor, configured for identifying an inspiratory trigger moment or an expiratory trigger moment of the patient according to the pressure change that reflects the self-respiratory effort of the patient.

Abstract: A method of linking controlled vocabulary data to a computer application includes the steps of invoking a command on a graphical user interface of the application to activate a controlled vocabulary display program which contains a controlled vocabulary, selecting terms of interest in the controlled vocabulary, closing said display program, passing data relating to said selected terms of interest to the computer application, and rendering the controlled vocabulary data in a display of the computer program.

Abstract: A method of retrieving thesaurus data stored on a computer system includes the steps of identifying the thesaurus term of interest to a user, retrieving a unique identifier associated with the term, constructing a folder path in a hierarchical folder system used to store the thesaurus data on the computer system, locating a folder containing thesaurus data associated with the unique identifier, retrieving thesaurus data associated with the unique identifier from the folder, and rendering the thesaurus data on a display device of the computer system.

Abstract: An element of a graphical user interface for displaying and exploring controlled vocabulary data, includes a first display pane for displaying controlled vocabulary terms, a toolbar adjacent to the first display pane containing graphic control elements for manipulating and exploring the controlled vocabulary data, a second display pane adjacent to the first display pane for displaying detailed information concerning at least one selected term of the controlled vocabulary and a third display pane adjacent to the first display pane for providing an interactive means for utilizing controlled vocabulary terms to search a data repository and further including a means for two letter index searching of terms within the controlled vocabulary.
