The piezoelectric speaker unit includes a plate, a piezoelectric body attached to a central part of the plate, and an edge type support member which supports one surface of the plate along an edge thereof and provides a space therein in which the plate is deformable. Here, at least one opening, which has one side communicating with the space and the other side communicating with the outside of the support member to release sounds generated in the space by oscillation of the plate to the outside of the support member, is formed in the support member.

Abstract: A display apparatus including a speaker and a control method thereof which controls the speaker to output a sound wave adjusted according to an installation condition of the display apparatus. The display apparatus includes a signal processor which processes an image signal and an audio signal; a display unit which displays an image corresponding to the image signal processed by the signal processor; a speaker which outputs a sound wave corresponding to the audio signal processed by the signal processor; and a controller which controls the signal processor to adjust the sound wave corresponding to the audio signal to an adjustment value according to an installation condition of the display apparatus.

Abstract: A method for equalizing audio and a video apparatus using the audio equalizing method are provided. The method for equalizing audio includes detecting the distance between a speaker mounted in a video apparatus and a reflective surface, and equalizing an audio signal to be output from the speaker based on the detected distance. Accordingly, attenuation of audio output is reduced, so audio output is optimized.

Abstract: A graphics processing method and apparatus described herein is capable of converting graphics processing of a window system into a vector-based application program interface (API) format usable in the GPU and performing the converted graphics processing in the GPU. For example, the vector-based API may be based on an OpenVG standard or an EGL standard.
