  • Patent number: 10324976
Abstract: A gallery software application enables a user to browse, view, and interact with various content items, such as still images and videos. The gallery includes a graphical user interface with two modes: stack and grid. In stack mode, images (which represent content items) are divided into groups, and a group is represented by a displayed stack of images. In grid mode, images are displayed in a grid of rows and columns. The displayed stacks and images can be scrolled. When the scrolling reaches the end of a set of stacks or images, the last stack or image is displayed with perspective distortion. In grid mode, a value is displayed for meta-data of a content item that is not currently displayed. If a user indicates the displayed value, the grid is scrolled until the content item whose meta-data matches that value is displayed.

  • Patent number: 10134044
Abstract: A user behavior monitoring module logs the operation of an image browser and sends the logged information to a personalization system. The personalization system includes a monitoring management module, a client statistics data store, a recommender system, and a content refinement module. The monitoring management module receives the logged information sent by the user behavior monitoring module and stores it in the client statistics data store. The recommender system determines user preferences based on the information stored in the client statistics data store. The content refinement module refines a set of content items based on the user preferences determined by the recommender system. The set is refined so that the resulting content items (and their ordering) are more relevant to the user operating the image browser. The refined set of content items is displayed to the user by the image browser.

  • Patent number: 10121060
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for automatically forming a group to share a media file or adding the media file to an existing group. The method and system includes receiving, by a processor, a media file comprising an image, identifying, by the processor, the face of a first person in the image and the face of a second person in the image, identifying, by the processor, a first profile of the first person from the face of the first person and a second profile of the second person from the face of the second person, automatically forming, by the processor, a group of recipients in a messaging application, the forming of the group of recipients based on the first profile and the second profile, the group of recipients comprising the first person and the second person; and sharing, by the processor, the media file with the group.

  • Publication number: 20170068397
Abstract: An image browser alternates between displaying an image grid with less perspective distortion and displaying it with more perspective distortion. The distortion amount is determined by the grid's angle of rotation. If the angle is zero, then the view is perpendicular and has no distortion. In one embodiment, the user manually switches between the less distorted view and the more distorted view. In another embodiment, the switching of views is performed automatically based on whether the image grid is moving or stationary. If the image grid is moving, then it is shown with a more distorted view. If the image grid is stationary, then it is shown with a less distorted view. In yet another embodiment, the switching of views is performed automatically based on the scrolling velocity (i.e., speed and direction). In this embodiment, scrolling and tilting are integrated such that as scrolling velocity changes, tilt angle changes also.

In one embodiment, the method comprises providing for one or more contacts (FIG. 10) to be included in an e-mail message (FIG. 14,1412) addressed to a unique e-mail address (FIG. 15,1522). The e-mail message is received at a server (FIG. 1,161) associated with the unique e-mail address. The one or more contacts are extracted from the e-mail message (FIG. 15,1524). A wireless device to send the one or more contacts to (FIG. 1,141) is determined by extracting delivery data contained in the e-mail message (FIG. 15,1512). One or more messages formatted specifically for the wireless device are generated (FIG. 9), wherein the one or more messages contain the one or more contacts (FIG. 10). The server checks if the wireless device is registered with the server (FIG.
