  • Patent number: 10775885
Abstract: The present disclosure provides embodiments of systems and methods that may be used by an information handling system (IHS) to improve the accuracy of eye tracking data generated by an eye tracking system of the IHS when a user's gaze is not directed to a gaze interaction plane of the eye tracking system. In one embodiment, the method may include receiving first data corresponding to a hinge angle (?) measured between a first surface and a second surface of the IHS, receiving second data corresponding to a user's gaze on the first surface or the second surface, and using the first data and the second data to provide accurate eye tracking data when the user's gaze is directed to the second surface. When the user's gaze is directed to the first surface, the method may use the second data, but not the first data, to provide accurate eye tracking data.

  • Publication number: 20100003536
Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a metal matrix composite material and a method for the manufacture thereof, the material comprising an aluminium-based alloy matrix, the matrix comprising a microstructure composed of at least a first aluminium alloy phase and having a second phase of nanostructured quasicrystalline particles embedded therein and further including in said matrix fibrils of at least one other dissimilar material.

  • Patent number: 7441123
Abstract: A plurality of electronic signals corresponding to a histological and/or physiological marker, such as a heartbeat, are obtained, from an individual and are converted into electronic signal form. The signals are measured to obtain an actual measurement of a plurality of variable features of the electronic signals relating to the heartbeats. The measurements are mathematically analyzed to provide the probability of divergence of each actual measurement. Using the calculated probability of divergence, subsequent received waveforms measurements are analyzed for authentication purposes.

  • Patent number: 6945306
Abstract: A system for incrementally depositing material includes a delivery system for directing a material toward a deposition zone (5), a monitoring system for monitoring a parameter of the deposited (a) material and a processing system (11) arranged to obtain a monitored value for the parameter, derive a predicted future parameter value for the monitored parameter, compare the predicted value with a reference parameter value for the monitored parameter, and produce a control output based on the comparison of the predicted value with the reference value, the control output being capable of modifying operation of the system. The parameter monitored has the tendency to vary over time (and space), and the processing means ensure that control output is not based upon the difference between an originally monitored parameter value and a reference value but rather between a prediction generated value (accounting for passage of time or spacital difference) and the reference value.

  • Patent number: 5430999
Abstract: A tree-trimming and phoning machine has a cutter bar (2) with a plurality of in-line-staggered rotary cutter blades (1) that are rotated by a separate hydraulic motor (12) for each one of the plurality of the rotary cutter blades. A resulting plurality of blade-turning hydraulic motors (12) are connected in series to a hydraulic-motor line 15. Hydraulic relief lines (23) are in pressure-spike-relief communication between hydraulic-motor lines (1 5) intermediate the hydraulic motors (12) and a hydraulic manifold or header (24). The cutter bar is attachable to a single side or to both sides of a hydraulic lifting means (5) such as employed for standard front-end loaders, fork lifts and other lifting means that are attachable to a vehicle (6) such as a tractor. The hydraulic lifting means is maneuverable university to select positions of trimming, pruning and cutting-load dumping.
