    Abstract: A taximeter apparatus, system and method for a taxi are disclosed. In one aspect, the taximeter apparatus includes a processing system including a memory having stored therein a plurality of computer applications. The processing system is configured to receive a route from a server via a network. The route is indicative of at least a start location or a destination location for a passenger. The processing system is also configured to receive a fare from the server based on the route, receive geographical coordinates as the taxi progresses from the start location to the destination location, and use the geographical coordinates to confirm the destination was reached. The processing system causes a payment application to facilitate electronic payment of the fare after confirming the destination was reached.
