The method comprises: receiving a flow index corresponding to a plurality of applications available at an electronic device, wherein the flow index represents a type of the flow, and a priority of the flow; determining whether connection for the data transmission exists between the electronic device and an internet server based on the flow index; performing one of regulating the flow based on the flow index in response to determining that the connection for the data transmission exists between the electronic device and the internet server, and discarding the flow index received from the electronic device for regulation of the flow in response to determining that the connection for the data transmission does not exists.

    Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and system for traffic shaping for a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network. The method comprises: estimating a congestion at each of a plurality of cells in the wireless communication network based on one or more network key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with the wireless communication network, collecting movement data of the UE by monitoring a movement of the UE connected to a first cell, predicting, based on the movement data and at least one of the estimated congestion and a bandwidth delay product (BDP) of the each of the plurality of cells, whether the UE is likely to be handed over from the first cell to a second cell, and transmitting a congestion notification to a core network of the wireless communication network based on the prediction, to perform traffic shaping for the UE upon receiving the congestion notification.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides to a method and an apparatus for supervised learning approach for reducing latency during a context switchover in a 5G Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC). An example method for performing a context switchover in a wireless network includes identifying a plurality of first parameters associated with a user equipment (UE) and a plurality of second parameters associated with an edge network entity; receiving a data path change notification from a session management entity; determining a ranking for each of a plurality of edge application servers (EASs) based on the plurality of first parameters and the plurality of second parameters, in response to reception of the data path change notification; selecting at least one target EAS of the plurality of EASs based on the ranking for each of the plurality of EASs; and performing the context switchover to the at least one target EAS.

The method includes detecting, by a network node, more than one Multimedia Broadcast-Multicast Service (MBMS) services in a group of MBMS services have a similar popularity index. Further, the method includes identifying, by the network node, which eMBMS service has more number of users facing Quality of Experience (QoE) issues, in response to detecting that the more than MBMS service in the group of MBMS services have the similar popularity index. Further, the method includes localizing, by the network node, whether the QoE issue is from at least one of the core network, the access network, the single eNB or a complete Multimedia Broadcast Single Frequency network (MBSFN) area. Furthermore, the method includes dynamically modifying, by the network node, QoS parameters based on the identification of the QoS issue.
