  • Publication number: 20240007393
Abstract: Supporting Multipath Transmission Control Protocol (MPTCP) subflows using multipath links, and more specifically supporting MPTCP subflows using Wi-Fi Multi-Link Operation (MLO) or cellular multi-link support may be provided. A multipath link may be established between an Access Point (AP) and a station (STA). The STA may mark the multipath link as Multipath Transmission Control Protocol (MPTCP) capable. Next, a request for an addition of a MPTCP subflow may be received. In response to receiving the request, the MPTCP subflow may be bound to the multipath link, and data from the MPTCP subflow may be sent over the multipath link.

  • Publication number: 20230412497
Abstract: A user plane function (UPF) node may receive a packet for traffic associated with a user equipment (UE). During packet classification, the UPF node may identify that a packet filter for the packet is not found in a packet filter set of an existing Quality of Service (QoS) Flow. In response, the UPF node may configure the packet filter in the packet filter set of the QoS Flow based on a flow tuple of the packet. The UPF node may send, to a control plane function node, a message which indicates a request for adding the flow tuple to the QoS Flow. The message may be for triggering communication of a message which indicates a session modification command for receipt by the UE, for adding an uplink packet filter that is based on the flow tuple for the QoS Flow.

  • Patent number: 11838822
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for selecting network protocols using heatmaps. For instance, a system may receive radio frequency information from one or more sources located within an environment. The system may then generate heatmaps using the radio frequency information, where the heatmaps represent characteristics associated with different network protocols. The characteristics may include signal strengths, throughputs, data packet drop rates, data packet retry rates, and/or the like for various locations within the environment. A user device may then receive the heatmaps from the system. Using a location of the user device and the heatmaps, the user device may determine to communicate using a network protocol from the different network protocols. The user device may then establish a connection using the network protocol.

  • Patent number: 11818777
Abstract: Methods are provided which indicate availability of the same service on a different access network. In these methods, the network controller generates an identifier for each of one or more services provided by a wireless local access network (WLAN). The identifier is associated with a particular service which is also provided by a private radio network. The network controller provides to an access point the identifier to be broadcast to one or more user devices of the WLAN to connect to the particular service via the private radio network. A mobility management entity receives a request from a user device to connect to the private network, where the request includes an identifier associated with a particular service provided to the user device in the WLAN and based on the identifier, the mobility management entity enables the particular service to be provided to the user device via the private radio network.

  • Patent number: 11800346
Abstract: A first access and mobility management function (AMF) in a network receives, from user equipment (UE), a registration request listing a first network slice and a second network slice. Upon determining that the first AMF supports the first, but not the second, network slice, the first AMF causes selection of (i) the first AMF as a session and mobility management (SM)-AMF to perform mobility management, and first session management signaling for the first network slice; and (ii) a second AMF as a session management only (SO)-AMF to perform only second session management signaling for the second network slice. The first AMF, acting as SM-AMF, performs the first session management signaling for a first data session on the first network slice, while the second AMF, acting as SO-AMF, performs only the second session management signaling for a second data session on the second network slice.
