Publication number: 20230379779Abstract: In a method of operating a Radio Access Network (RAN) to optimize a handover between two gNBs, in addition to exchanging the respective AMF region IDs between the two gNBs, all supported GUAMIs of each gNB shall be exchanged as part of the Xn setup procedure, thereby enabling each gNB to know the supported GUAMIs of the peer gNB. Before initiating the Xn handover, source gNB shall check whether the target gNB supports the AMF which currently serves the UE. If supported, the source gNB shall proceed with the Xn-based handover. If the AMF is not supported by the target gNB, the source gNB shall initiate the NGAP handover. In addition, whenever there is any change in supported GUAMIs (addition/deletion/modification), each gNB shall initiate a New Generation Radio Access Network (NG-RAN) Configuration Update procedure towards the peer gNB with the changed list of GUAMIs.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2023Publication date: November 23, 2023Applicant: Mavenir Systems, Inc.Inventor: Srinivasan Sundararajan

Publication number: 20220030512Abstract: A method of enabling a Cloud Radio Access Network (C-RAN)-compatible central unit (CU) to modify at least one dynamic Transport Network Layer Association (TNLA) in communication with a C-RAN-compatible distributed unit (DU) includes: generating, by the CU, a first TNLA distinct from an existing second TNLA; communicating, by the CU to the DU, assigned first and second weight factors associated with the first and second TNLAs, respectively, wherein i) the assigned first weight factor associated with the first TNLA indicates required selection, and ii) the assigned second weight factor for the second TNLA indicates required non-selection; establishing a new Stream Control Transport Protocol (SCTP) connection towards a gNB-CU IP address associated with the first TNLA; and automatically selecting, by the DU, the first TNLA for any new UE requiring service. The method can be performed using one of F1-C interface, Xn-C interface and E1 interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2021Publication date: January 27, 2022Applicant: Mavenir Systems, Inc.Inventor: Srinivasan Sundararajan

Patent number: 11161409Abstract: Systems and methods for securing limited drivability of a vehicle by impaired drivers using blockchain are provided. The vehicle system uses blockchain to protect and disclose such vehicle deactivation, prevent false enabling/disabling of a vehicle, and saves this information to a shared ledger. A sensor system located on the vehicle, e.g., alcohol interlock sensors, interior sensors, and exterior sensors, may have access to this information along with fleet managers, OEM, and/or users. For example, when the alcohol interlock sensor is activated, it transmits a test request. Subsequently, the other sensors may identify the request and look for a known person inside or in the proximity of the vehicle. In a similar manner, whether the test has been conducted, as well as the results of the test may be verified by the other nodes, e.g., sensors/modules in the vehicle. Upon confirmation that the driver is impaired, the vehicle may be deactivated.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2020Date of Patent: November 2, 2021Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Mahmoud Ghannam, Mark Cuddihy, Brian Bennie, Srinivasan Sundararajan, Doug Thornburg
