  • Patent number: 9023444
Abstract: A coating material in laminate form, intended for an insulation system for installation elements such as pipes, containers, and ventilation ducts. The insulation system includes a surface that the coating material must cover. The coating material has an outer, first layer made of metal foil, for example an aluminum foil, having a thickness within the 20 to 100 mm and more preferably 30 to 60 mm range, together with a plastic layer placed between the metal foil first layer and the surface of the insulation system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 20, 2005
Date of Patent: May 5, 2015
    Assignee: Saint-Gobain Isover
    Inventor: Staffan Tigerfeldt
  • Patent number: 7607457
Abstract: The invention relates to an insulation system for pipes, containers, ventilation ducts and like installation parts which have an outer surface temperature which periodically is below the dew point of the ambient air. The insulation system comprises a thermally insulating layer and a vapour barrier arranged on one side of the thermally insulating layer. The insulation system has a hygroscopic material which is arranged between the vapour barrier and the thermally insulating layer, which hygroscopic material is at least partially connected with the vapour barrier. A combination of the vapour barrier and the hygroscopic material is connected with the thermally insulating layer in such a manner that the hygroscopic material partially makes contact with the thermally insulating layer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 15, 2004
Date of Patent: October 27, 2009
    Assignee: Saint-Gobain Isover AB

  • Patent number: 6629706
Abstract: The present invention relates to an ventilation duct construction and a method which increases the fire-retardant capability of a ventilation duct. According to the invention, an improved fire-retardant capability of a ventilation duct or sound absorber is obtained by providing the ventilation duct with a shielding sheet at a distance from the same so that an air gap is formed therebetween. The time during which the outside temperature of the construction can be kept down is prolonged, while the construction remains compact.

  • Patent number: 6161593
Abstract: A ventilation duct includes an envelope lined on the inside by insulation panels. The panels have a lining on the side of the flow channel of the duct and on at least one part of at least one of transverse edges of the duct. This lining extends over at least one part of each of both sides of the edge and is integrated with the panel. Z shaped sections may be used to hold adjacent panels.
