Publication number: 20140196335Abstract: A label holder for a retail display apparatus is provided. The label holder comprises a front panel, a sign clip, and a mounting structure for securing the label holder to the retail display apparatus. The sign clip includes a leg portion, including a gripping surface, and resiliently biases to secure a sign between the gripping surface and the front panel. In one embodiment, defined in the front panel are two sign engagement projections that interleavingly interact with the gripping surface. The sign clip is integrally connected to the front panel via an integral hinge and pivots relative to the front panel through the integral hinge between a normal state and a biased state. In the normal state, the leg portion of the clip is positioned proximate the front panel. In the biased state, the leg portion is spaced apart from the front panel and holds a secondary sign therebetween.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2014Publication date: July 17, 2014Applicant: SOUTHERN IMPERIAL, INC.Inventors: Patrick J. Patent number: 7114277Abstract: Provided is a sign holder for mounting to and displaying from a shelf any of various planar signs. The sign holder includes a clamp having two pivotally-connected panels that can be placed into a clamping position to hold the planar sign. To hold the panels in the clamping position, the first panel includes a holding prong that can be received in a corresponding aperture of the second panel. To prevent the planar sign from slipping between the panels, the second panel includes a piercing prong that can pierce the planar sign and be received in a corresponding aperture of the first panel. So that the planar material does not interfere with the engagement between the holding prong and its corresponding aperture, the piercing prong can be spaced-apart from the pivotally-connected edges of the panels a greater distance than the holding prong is. Various mounting structures can be included.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2004Date of Patent: October 3, 2006Assignee: Southern Imperial, Inc.Inventors: Stanley C. Valiulis, Joseph E. Publication number: 20040159755Abstract: A mounting bracket generally comprises a plate and a pair of laterally spaced prongs connected to the plate. Each prong has a first portion extending rearwardly and a second portion extending downwardly. The second portion of each prong has a vertical height less than or equal to a diameter of the mounting apertures, whereby the bracket may be attached to the vertical support without rotating the bracket, thereby saving retail space. An interior chamber is defined by the rear surface of the plate and the inner surfaces of the prongs. The interior chamber has a horizontal width less than or equal to the thickness of the vertical support such that the rear and inner surfaces firmly engage the vertical support and attach the mounting bracket thereto. Preferably, the bracket further includes a second pair of laterally spaced prongs structured similarly to the first pair of prongs but vertically spaced therefrom.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2004Publication date: August 19, 2004Applicant: Southern Imperial, Inc.Inventors: Stanley C. Valiulis, Craig Zadak

Publication number: 20030230685Abstract: A mounting back is provided for mounting a display hanger to a vertical support having a plurality of spaced apertures, such as pegboard. The mounting back generally comprises a main body, a first prong, and a positioning member. The first prong is connected to the main body and projects rearwardly therefrom. The first prong has a general L-shape and is positioned to extend through an aperture in the vertical support for attaching the mounting back thereto. The positioning member is connected to the main body and extends rearwardly relative to the rear surface. The positioning member is positioned to extend into an aperture for preventing inadvertent removal of the first prong, and hence the mounting back, from the vertical support.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2002Publication date: December 18, 2003Applicant: Southern Imperial, Inc.Inventors: Stanley C.
