  • Patent number: 4532518
Abstract: An amplitude control circuit and variable phase shifter driver, employable in electronically steerable antennas, compares amplitude and phase command signals for the amplitude controller and phase shifter with command signals derived from the amplitude ratio and phase difference between a reference r.f. signal and an r.f. signal at a selected location. The difference signals resulting from this comparison are added to the amplitude and phase shift command signals and applied to the amplitude controller phase shifter drivers to adjust the amplitude controller and phase shifter.

  • Patent number: 4443800
Abstract: Each antenna of the phased array is supplied a lineal polarized wave which has been shifted in phase and rotated in polarization in accordance with a cascade connection of a NRCP, Faraday rotator and a RNRCP. The control windings of the Faraday rotator and the rotating polarizer determine the amount of phase shift and rotation of the polarization of the propagating wave.

  • Patent number: 4434426
Abstract: The device consist of a latching, nonreciprocal ferrite phase shifter, a ching Faraday rotator, a radiating element and the required matching transformers combined into a single unit used as a phased array element. The phase shift is provided by a toroid type non-reciprocal ferrite phase shifter. The polarization rotation is provided by an axially magnetized ferrite filled waveguide. The impedance matching between the sections is achieved with ceramic transformers. This device provides full polarization control.

  • Patent number: 4275367
Abstract: A high frequency diode digital phase shifter element of the transmission line type has a capacitor coupled serially in a primary transmission line conductor. Two shunt switchable elements are coupled by the series capacitor. The switchable element includes short-circuitable lengths of transmission line whose effective electrical lengths can be varied by simultaneously changing the biased state of shunt mounted PIN diodes.
