  • Patent number: 5224266
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a hydraulic pump cylinder for use in a hydraulic system having a hydraulic fluid input, a pump for pumping hydraulic fluid to create and maintain a sufficient fluid pressure in the system and a piston. The method includes the steps of selecting a tube of a predetermined length, width and material. The tube has an outer surface and an inner diameter surface which defines a bore axially through the length of the tube. The tube is treated with at least one layer of a liquid lubricant solution comprising a solvent, binder and solid lubricant in selected amounts. The liquid lubricant solution is and after being applied to the tube until it hardens to a sufficiently workable state. Finally, the coating of the cured liquid lubricant solution is machined to form a lubricious, non-corrosive finish of a predetermined smoothness and roundness for use in commercial and non-commercial hydraulic systems.

  • Patent number: 4634545
Abstract: A method of lubricating a railroad track comprising the steps of dispersing together a mixture of at least 30% by weight of powdered graphite having an average particle size of not larger than 50 microns, and an oil based carrier to yield a viscosity of approximately 25,000 centipoise at standard temperature and pressure; applying said dispersion to a railroad track and pressure fixing to form a film like coating thereon.
