  • Patent number: 5432989
Abstract: An apparatus for joining a plurality of metal sheets by first drawing and then laterally extruding the metal into an enlarged shape which will permanently and mechanically interlock the two metal sheets. The apparatus utilizes a novel die body construction in which the die body has a cavity wall provided with a plurality of longitudinally extending flutes which communicate with a depressed groove surrounding a centrally raised portion of an anvil. Upon compression and drawing, the material from the metal sheets will extrude from the raised central portion of the anvil into the depressed groove and the extrude laterally into the substantially longitudinally extending flutes which allow the finished assembly to be withdrawn from the die body along the path of the substantially longitudinally extending flutes. A method of forming a joint between metal sheets is also disclosed. Also disclosed is a die body which permits withdrawal of the finished product without requiring movable releasable portions in the die.

  • Patent number: 5396995
Abstract: A hanging file frame is provided for holding and supporting a plurality of hanging file folders. The hanging file frame includes longitudinal beams which are supported by an upper beam clasping element and a lower support element. Connectors secure the upper beam clasping element to the lower support element. The upper beam clasping element opens to accept the longitudinal beams. In one embodiment, upon closure of the clasping elements, the longitudinal beams are pressed against the nibs, thereby securing the beams to the clasping elements. In another embodiment, the longitudinal beams are pressed against raised strips, thereby securing the beams to the clasping element. In another variation, a frame member is comprised of a pair of U-shaped members, each having a gripping section, and having horizontally extending legs coupled together by a positionally adjustable sleeve slidably movable along the legs.

  • Patent number: 4453529
Abstract: This invention relates to a small portable grill, wherein the fire box and the hood or cover have a depth and are removably hinged together, pivoted handle means on the hood to retain the fire box and hood in closed position, and manipulate the hood in both open and lateral position, the fire box bottom wall being provided with a series of equispaced indentations whereby each indentation may readily support a single charcoal briquette and of a spacing that each briquette touches adjacent briquettes, removable grill rods are supported over said fire box and said fire box has pivotal legs for supporting the grill above a surface and provides means for carrying the grill in closed position. Therefore this grill is especially suited for use on patios or porches or balconies and is ideal for fishermen, campers, picnickers and hunters.
