  • Patent number: 4738765
Abstract: An electrolytic hygrometer is provided which comprises a hollow cylinder having first and second shoulders and a ceramic substrate containing an electrolytic cell circuit pattern mounted on the second shoulder of the hollow cylinder and extending upwardly inside the hollow cylinder toward the first shoulder. A permeable membrane is provided which is removably mounted on the first shoulder by means of a sandwiched configuration comprising a first mounting ring, a first porous stainless steel protective disk, the membrane, a second porous stainless steel protective disk, and a second mounting ring. A ring nut is employed to removably fasten the membrane's sandwiched configuration against the first shoulder of the hollow cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4629333
Abstract: A radiation source directs light at a mirror which reflects to a first photosensor. As a dew point is reached, scattered light is reflected to a second photosensor to indicate dew point. Rather than periodically interrupting operation to test reflectivity of the mirror or to perform a heating cycle, operation is monitored continuously. The common mode output of both the first and second photosensors is monitored. When below a threshold level, the output indicates the need for cleaning the mirror. It may also be used in a closed loop to increase light source intensity as mirror reflectivity decreases.

  • Patent number: 3973174
Abstract: A digital control system for regulating the speed of a running web roll so as to maintain uniform tension in the web measures the speed of the running roll with a first tachometer and measures the speed of a fixed diameter roll in control with the web with a second tachometer. A resettable counter is incremented by the pulses from the second tachometer and is reset by the pulses from the first tachometer so that the contents of the counter are indicative of the amount of web having traveled over the fixed diameter roll during the time in which the running roll has rotated through a selected angle. The contents of the counter are then used to control the torque applied to the running roll.

  • Patent number: 3958106
Abstract: An article identifying system especially adapted for use in identifying coded containers being transferred from one point to another by means which require that the containers be moved in a vertical direction while being moved in a horizontal direction.A code reading scanner mounted on a vertical carrier is positioned alongside the path of movement of the article. The carrier moves vertically in synchronism with the vertical motion of the container so that at whatever level the container passes the carrier position, the scanner will be at the same level as the container. To move the carrier vertically in synchronism with the vertical motion of the container, the motor driving the carrier is controlled by a signal generated by the vertical motion of the container.
