    Abstract: A vehicle antenna pane for operating a toll payment system using short-range radio signals is presented. The vehicle antenna pane includes a pane, a first set of receiver/transmitter for communication with a toll station, and a second set of receiver/transmitter for communication with a mobile device inside of the vehicle. Communication between the pane and the toll station is according to a radio frequency spectrum suitable for a longer range communication, and communication between the pane and the mobile device is according to a radio frequency spectrum suitable for a shorter range communication. The vehicle antenna pane also includes a signal converter used for converting signals between the different radio frequency spectra.

The electrically conductive layer forms a capacitive switching region having a contact region, a supply line region, and a connection region. The supply line region electrically connects the contact region to the connection region that can be electrically connected to a sensor electronics system. A heating wire and at least two busbars are arranged between the substrate and the cover pane, wherein one end of the heating wire is electrically connected to one of the busbars.

The panel heater has one or more measurement current paths formed into the electrically conductive coating, which differ at least in sections from the heating current paths. The heating and measurement current paths are formed into the electrically conductive coating by coating-free separating regions. A method for operation and use of the panel heater is also described.
