Patent number: 11941000Abstract: An embodiment includes processing a dataset to generate a set of feature vectors that include a first feature vector corresponding to a first concept within a user's areas of interest and a second feature vector corresponding to a second concept within the user's areas of study. The embodiment identifies clusters of the feature vectors and identifies key features that most contribute to influencing the clustering algorithm. The embodiment selects the first feature vector in response to a user query, and then selects the second feature vector based on an overlap between key features of the first and second feature vectors and a degree of dissimilarity between the first and second concepts. The embodiment outputs a query response that includes the second concept. The embodiment also determines an effectiveness value based on sensor data indicative of a user action responsive to the outputting of the response to the query.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Shikhar Kwatra, Robert E. Publication number: 20240092329Abstract: A vehicle brake system includes a hydraulic service brake system having a service brake circuit and a trailer brake control system. The trailer brake control system includes a trailer brake valve with a service brake demand input port and a trailer brake demand output port connected to a trailer brake control coupling. The output at the trailer brake demand output port is dependent on the pressure applied at the service brake demand input port. An electronic trailer brake control system has a solenoid control valve to connect the service brake demand input port to a source of pressurized hydraulic fluid to trigger an output at the trailer brake demand output port. An ECU is configured to actuate the control valve to apply the trailer brakes if it determines that the vehicle is at risk of jack-knifing. The system may also include a shuttle valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 27, 2021Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Philipp Kirmaier, Georg Frank, Stefan Prestel

Publication number: 20220221678Abstract: An optical element held in a holder has a first optical surface which has no rotational symmetry with regard to its imaging axis. The holder has at least one reference element, which defines a position and/or orientation of the holder in a predefined coordinate system which compensates for a difference between an actual pose of the first optical surface and a target pose of the first optical surface in the holder at least in one degree of freedom. The reference element defines at least one specific azimuthal position of the holder. Also provided is a method for adjusting the holder of an optical element that has at least a first optical surface, which has no rotational symmetry with regard to its imaging axis, to a difference between an actual pose of the first optical surface and a target pose of the first optical surface in the holder.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 15, 2020Publication date: July 14, 2022Inventors: Stefan FRANK, Michael SCHULZ, Manfred KRESSER, Martin WEISS, Tobias BEIER

Publication number: 20200285377Abstract: A computerized watch is described that receives, from an application that is currently executing, information about a user controllable operation being performed by the application. The computerized watch automatically generates a dynamic control element associated with the user controllable operations being performed by the application. The dynamic control element includes: a first portion that presents at least a subset of the information about the user controllable operation being performed by the application, and a second portion that obtains user input that controls the user controllable operation. The computerized watch outputs, for display, a user interface that includes: the dynamic control element, and one or more static control elements that control other operations being performed by the computerized watch.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2018Publication date: September 10, 2020Inventors: Jeffrey Hoefs, Jonathan Kong, Stefan Frank, Kelly McQuighan
