  • Publication number: 20030179475
Abstract: A motion mechanism comprises a substantially spherically curved holder, a substantially spherically curved bowl and a substantially spherically curved support element. The holder, bowl and support element, when inserted into eachpother in this order, are rotatable relative to each other about a first axis, the X-axis, and a second axis, the Y-axis. The axes lie in a plane substantially coinciding with the plane of the outer edge of the holder or extending parallel thereto. The holder is connected to the support element for rotation about the Y-axis and the support element together with the holder are connected to the bowl for rotation about the X-axis. The drive means for moving the holder about said axes can substantially be arranged in the holder itself.

  • Patent number: 6276807
Abstract: In a method for mounting first and second adjusting means for pivoting a mirror element about two mutually substantially perpendicular axes in the housing of a mirror to be secured in or to a vehicle, each of the adjusting means is arranged on a mounting plate member, whereafter, depending on the desired distance between the intersection of the axes and the points of application of the adjusting means on the mirror element, the two mounting plate members are positioned relative to each other and, in the relative position they have thus assumed, are mounted in the housing of a mirror. The two mounting plate members are connected for movement relative to each other in the plane of the mounting plate.

  • Patent number: 6130514
Abstract: An electrically operable pivoting mechanism (10) for causing a mirror housing (3) of a wing mirror to pivot. The mirror housing can be brought from any position into any other position manually, and can be brought from any position into the normal operational position electrically by means of the mechanism (10). The mechanism (10) has a construction which is simple an an therefor be easily manufactured. The mechanism comprises a plurality of arcuate grooves and corresponding configured projections engaging the grooves for defining the extreme positions of the mirror housing.

  • Patent number: 6099433
Abstract: A driving unit (1), comprising: a motor (10), a driven shaft (2) driven by the motor, and a transmission device (20) coupled between the motor and the output shaft and having one input shaft (21) and two rotational output members (22) and (23), wherein the ratio of transmission from the input shaft (21) to the first rotational output member (22) differs from the ratio of transmission from the input shaft (21) to the second rotational output member (23). The first rotational output member (22) is coupled to the motor housing (11) via a slip coupling (30). A helical spring (60) arranged so as to be coaxial to the motor presses the first rotational output member (23) against the motor housing (11), wherein that helical spring (60) engages the motor housing (11) via a pressure ring (50). This pressure ring (50) has a helical channel (52) for receiving the helical spring (60). The pressure ring (50) is rotatable to enable setting the maximum value of the moment that can be supplied to the output shaft (2).

  • Patent number: 5823054
Abstract: A movement actuator includes first and second modules that are constructed to fit together in different manners. The first module includes first and second actuator parts mounted for rotation relative to one another, a gear wheel rotatable arranged in the second actuator part, and a transmission system including a coupler coupled to the gear wheel and a worm wheel. The second module includes a motor housing and an electromotor mounted in the housing and having a drive shaft having mounted thereon a worm. When the two modules are coupled together, in any of the different manners, the worm engages the worm wheel, thereby coupling the electromotor through the transmission system and gear wheel to the actuator parts. As a result, the electromotor is operable to rotate the actuator parts relative to each other.
