  • Patent number: 10175066
Abstract: A system for detecting the absolute rotational angle of a shaft rotatable more than one revolution includes a drive wheel connected to the shaft to rotate therewith. The drive wheel includes measurement sectors adjacent to one another in a circumferential direction. First and second driven wheels are engaged to the drive wheel. First and second sensors monitor rotational positions of the driven wheels to thereby detect an absolute rotational angle of the shaft. A third sensor monitors a relative angular position of the shaft in relation to a detected one of the measurement sectors to thereby detect the relative angular position of the shaft within one revolution of the shaft. The detected absolute rotational angle of the shaft is refined with the detected relative angular position of the shaft to thereby generate the absolute rotational angle of the shaft with more precision.

  • Patent number: 5969519
Abstract: An electrical signal transmitter intended for use in a motor vehicle is disclosed. The signal transmitter is provided with a magnetic sensor device for the detection of various positions of a movable vehicle part. To properly recognize a variety of positions, the movable part is connected with a correspondingly movable magnetic trigger member located on a holder. The trigger member has several magnetic tracks extending in the longitudinal direction of movement of the trigger member. Each magnetic track is provided with alternating N/S pole sections to provide a coding scheme. At least one magnetic field sensitive component is associated with each magnetic track to sense fields generated from the N/S pole sections. The at least one magnetic field sensitive component then generates a signal based on the sensed magnetic fields. The signal is indicative of the position of the magnetic trigger.

  • Patent number: 5714728
Abstract: Electrical switch gear which comprises a housing formed to be substantially rotationally symmetrical and consisting of an upper housing part and a lower housing part. Inside the housing is disposed an actuating member formed as a push rod, provided in a housing chamber and provided with a permanently magnetized component, and a switching component which can be influenced by the permanently magnetized component and is provided in one housing chamber hermetically separated from the other housing chamber. To create switching gear able to make possible a larger number of switching functions, at least one permanently magnetized component is provided which is disposed on one longitudinal side of the actuating member and extends with its region of action close to one of the separating wall sides extending in the displacement direction of the actuating member.
