  • Patent number: 10323333
Abstract: Nanofluidic passages such as nanochannels and nanopores are closed or opened in a controlled manner through the use of a feedback system. An oxide layer is grown or removed within a passage in the presence of an electrolyte until the passage reaches selected dimensions or is closed. The change in dimensions of the nanofluidic passage is measured during fabrication. The ionic current level through the passage can be used to determine passage dimensions. Fluid flow through an array of fluidic elements can be controlled by selective oxidation of fluidic passages between elements.

  • Publication number: 20190160287
Abstract: A method for neuromodulation includes monitoring brain activity of a patient using one or more electrodes attached to the patient, and using a first machine learning model to predict whether a patient will have a seizure based on the monitored brain activity of the patient. The method also includes, responsive to the first machine learning model predicting that the patient will have a seizure, using a second machine learning model to determine a neuromodulation signal pattern for preventing the predicted seizure. The method further includes using a neurostimulator to apply the determined neuromodulation signal pattern to the patient. The method also includes, after applying the determined neuromodulation signal pattern to the patient, detecting whether the patient had the predicted seizure based on the monitored brain activity of the patient. • Publication number: 20190141014
Abstract: A method and system for improving a digital media content transfer blocking process is provided. The method includes detecting a request for access to digital media content from a digital media provider system. Network traffic across the network is identified and it is verified that the digital media content is comprised by the network traffic. In response, investigation platform software code is executed and a database system associated with the digital media provider system is queried. A system determines if a legitimate connection based relationship exists between a user device and the digital media provider system and the digital media content is monitored. The digital media content is determined to be unauthorized for use by said user and in response the digital media content is disabled from executing functions with respect to the user device of a user.

  • Patent number: 10267784
Abstract: A nanodevice includes a reservoir filled with conductive fluid and a membrane separating the reservoir. A nanopore is formed through the membrane having electrode layers separated by insulating layers. A certain electrode layer has a first type of organic coating and a pair of electrode layers has a second type. The first type of organic coating forms a motion control transient bond to a molecule in the nanopore for motion control, and the second type forms first and second transient bonds to different bonding sites of a base of the molecule. When a voltage is applied to the pair of electrode layers a tunneling current is generated by the base in the nanopore, and the tunneling current travels via the first and second transient bonds formed to be measured as a current signature for distinguishing the base. The motion control transient bond is stronger than first and second transient bonds.

  • Publication number: 20180107451
Abstract: Automatic scaling is performed on a floating point implementation of a DNN to perform scaling to a fixed point implementation. The DNN includes multiple layers in an order from a starting to an ending layer. The automatic scaling includes determining a scaling factor for each of multiple ones of the layers during training of the DNN. The scaling factor converts floating point numbers used for calculations in a layer into integer numbers to be used in the calculations. A scaling factor is determined for a selected layer, which is at a position in the order, based on scaling factors used in layers in the order prior to the position of the selected layer. The automatic scaling includes outputting the scaling factors for the multiple layers to be used for implementing the fixed point implementation of the DNN that uses integer calculations instead of floating point calculations.
