  • Publication number: 20200132511
Abstract: A position signal generator for an electronic position measuring device is disclosed. In an embodiment, the position signal generator includes a signal generation device for generating a periodic magnetic signal, and an electric power supply device for supplying the signal generation device with electric energy. The position of the position signal generator is determined via the position measuring device.

  • Patent number: 7812597
Abstract: A motion sensor which has a coil that surrounds a ferromagnetic core and at least one magnet that is longitudinally movable along the coil. The magnet causes a magnetic saturation of the ferromagnetic core in an associated zone that covers a portion of the length of the coil. An evaluation unit generates a position signal in dependence on the position of the movable magnet along the longitudinal extent of the coil. The coil has at least two superimposed winding layers that surround the ferromagnetic core and are wound in opposite directions. The windings of adjacent segments generally have about the same width over which the winding density remains constant. Thus, the winding density of the segments of one of the winding layers increases linearly over the length of the sensor while the winding density of the segments in the other winding layer linearly decreases over the sensor length.

  • Patent number: 6658359
Abstract: C9The invention relates to a method for determining the viscosity of an operating liquid of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle by establishing the level of the operating liquid. In a known method, the viscosity of the operating liquid is established from the changes to the level in the operating liquid over a period of time. This viscosity is determined after turning off the internal combustion engine by measuring the variation of the engine oil level over a period of time. The measurement can, however, also take place exclusively after the internal combustion engine has been turned off. In the present method, this disadvantage is avoided in that the level and the variation of the transverse acceleration are measured constantly in order to determine the viscosity of the operating liquid from the variation against time of the two signal curves.

  • Patent number: 6651485
Abstract: A method of determining the viscosity of an operating liquid, such as engine oil, in an internal combustion engine uses a sensor having a measuring chamber for determining the liquid level and its variation. The measuring chamber is connected via a damping device to a reservoir of the operating liquid. On starting the internal combustion engine, the variation in the liquid level is measured in the measuring chamber of the sensor and the variation of the level over time is used as a measure for determining the viscosity.
