Abstract: A heavy truck tire tread (2) having a longitudinal direction (LgD), a lateral direction (LtD), a tread depth direction (TdD), a ground contact surface (CS) and a pair of opposing tread shoulders (3, 4) spaced apart along the lateral direction is provided. The tread has a shoulder zone (SZ, SZ?) adjacent each tread shoulder of the pair of opposing tread shoulders, the shoulder zones consisting of blocks (5, 6) adjacent to each other along the longitudinal direction and separated by lateral grooves (7, 8). A center zone (CZ) is defined between the shoulder zones. The center zone is decoupled from both shoulder zones by at least one longitudinal sipe (11) or groove, and each lateral groove (7) in a shoulder zone (SZ) is directly connected to an opposite lateral groove (8) in the opposite shoulder zone (SZ?) by a lateral sipe (10) of the center rib.

  • Publication number: 20180322184
Abstract: Replicating a tenant database includes receiving at a source system a first request from a target system for replicating a first tenant database of the source system, which includes one or more first servers. Characteristics of the one or more first servers are sent to the target system to generate at the target system a second tenant database including one or more second servers. Each second server corresponds to one first server and has the same characteristics as the corresponding first server. Information from each first server is replicated, in an asynchronous mode, to the corresponding second server through a communication channel that is established between each first server and the second server. Upon receiving a second request for stopping the replication, a synchronous mode of processing statements from client applications of the first tenant database is entered. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are described.

  • Patent number: 9850674
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a tower assembly of a wind turbine having a joint assembly configured therein. The tower assembly includes at least one generally cylindrical tower section. The tower section is split into at least a first vertical tower section and a second vertical tower section. Each of the first and second vertical tower sections define an interior wall and an exterior wall separated by a thickness. Further, the tower assembly includes a joint assembly that secures the first and second vertical tower sections together. The joint assembly includes a first L-flange mounted to the interior wall of the first vertical tower section and a second L-flange mounted to the interior wall of the second vertical tower section. The first L-flange faces in a first direction and the second L-flange faces away from the first direction. Further, the first and second L-flanges are separated from the interior walls of the first and second vertical tower sections via an open space.

  • Patent number: 9150057
Abstract: Tires in use wear in a host of ways. One negative manner in which tires, especially truck tires, may wear is in an irregular fashion. When this phenomenon happens, the tread of the tire may become unusable, forcing the user to replace the tire, which is undesirable. This patent application poses a new and useful way of preventing irregular wear involving the use of hidden sipes or tread blocks. In some embodiments, these hidden sipes or tread blocks are found in tread blocks or ribs adjacent other tread blocks or ribs that have been determined to be susceptible to irregular wear. In other embodiments, the hidden sipes or tread blocks are formed by a sipe blade that has a connecting member to which two y-branched members are attached, and further comprising dividing members that connect between the y-branched members.

  • Patent number: 9022083
Abstract: Particular embodiments of the present invention include a multi-stage tire tread having a plurality of wear layers, each said layer being located at a different depth of the tire tread, the tread including one or more tread elements including a contact surface and having a first wear layer and a second wear layer, wherein the second wear layer is located below the first wear layer. The tire tread also includes a longitudinal groove extending in a longitudinal direction within the second wear layer of the tread element, wherein said longitudinal groove becomes exposed after a depth of the first wear layer has been worn. The tire tread further includes one or more lateral grooves extending from the longitudinal groove in a lateral direction within the second wear layer of the tread element. The invention also provides a mold element for forming portions of the multi-stage tread.

  • Publication number: 20120254084
Abstract: A method and a device are provided for predicting passenger movement in airports. Based on movement characteristics such as walking speed class and one or more points of interest of an individual passenger that are preferred by this passenger, a path is predicted for this passenger through the airport from a check-in counter, via the points of interest, to a gate. With reference to the predicted path, an estimated time of arrival of the passenger at the gate can be predicted.
