    Abstract: A method performed by a first network node, for deciding a configuration to be used in a data communication between the first network node and a second network node in a wireless communications network is provided. The first network node receives a second message from the second network node. The second message includes user plane configuration information. The user plane configuration information includes a vendor identity of the second network node, a highest user plane protocol version supported by the second network node and a set of proprietary features of the vendor that are supported by the second network node. The second message is conveyed by using a frame structure according to a protocol specification that is being negotiated. The first network node decides a user plane vendor configuration to be used in the data communication between the first network node, and the second network node.

    Abstract: The exemplary embodiments of the present invention relate to a proxy entity for reducing a load on a serving gateway. This is achieved by the proxy entity comprising a cross connecting circuit configured to receive from a MME, a cross connect set up request message to establish a tunnel between the proxy entity and the serving radio base station. The circuit is configured to establish the tunnel towards the serving radio base station. A receiver of the proxy entity is configured to receive, from the MME, a request to handover the UE from the serving to a target radio base station. The cross connecting circuit is further configured to establish a cross connect tunnel towards the target radio base station using an identifier of the established tunnel and an address of the target radio base station. The exemplary embodiments of the invention also relate to a MME.

    Abstract: Resources are reserved or otherwise allocated in a mobile radio communications system in an efficient and timely fashion. In general, the amount of resources that will likely be necessary to support a connection with a mobile station is predicted before those resources are actually required. More specifically, an unknown value of a dynamic connection parameter, like a number of radio paths likely to be involved in supporting the connection, is predicted. In the handover context, these radio paths might correspond to paths with different base stations (as in hard and soft handover) or to paths with different base station sectors (as in softer handover). The underlying resources are allocated using the predicted connection parameter and may include, for example, data processing and memory hardware resources, software resources, radio resources, etc.

    Abstract: In a telecommunication system, a fault supervision and management system includes a chain system of diagnose and inference objects connected one after another in a fault propagation direction. The locations of these objects are determined so as to enable them to supervise, in a supervision domain, one phenomenon each, which may be caused by faults in the telecommunication system. The objects are further located so as to enable them to communicate with, affect, and interact with each other in case of the emergence of a fault, for localizing faults in the telecommunication system. Each diagnose and inference object uses one or more measurement point objects for observing the emergence of the phenomenon supervised by the diagnose and inference object and for reporting to the diagnose and inference object. Several measurement point objects may be grouped in a measurement combinatory object which puts together and processes data from measurement point objects.
